Best MAC eyeshadow

Hey guys! I need some much needed help. I'm new to this

and I wanted to start buying e/s for my make up kit. MAC e/s all are great and I love them ALL but I need to find out which ones should I start of with buying first.
Any Recommendations?!?

first the basics:

carbon
a highlight for your browbone (crystal avalanche or someother white/skin color)
any fun colors that you like

Personally, I like Grain best for highlighting....it all depends on your skintone.

Also, if you haven't already, invest in a good base and brushes. Good tools make all the difference! My favourite bases are the paints, and I use bare canvas almost everyday, and baslight if I'm going out and want a little more shimmer. You should get a good blending brush too - I highly recommend the 217 - it's super versatile, and it will make even the most unrelated colour blend

If you like a nice texture try the veluxe pearl e/s - these apply soooooo nicely and are a dream to wear! Coppering is one of my fav VP e/s and is a gorgeous colour as well

Go to the mu counter and play around with them. Texture also makes a difference, veluxe pearl applies like butter. LOL

It looks like you have some great suggestions here but since I am fairly new to collecting MAC, I thought I'd also suggest the Gentle fumes quad and the Smoking Eyes quad. Both have highlight colors, one has carbon, one has satin taupe, and the remaining colors are very versatile. I think that the quads, in addition to the bright colors that you like would make a great start!

Lastly, I know you asked about MAC shadows, but I have found that Urban Decay shadows are great in terms of texture and the colors are beautiful! I have the Ammo Palette which has 10 colors so you can mix and match them with your MAC shadows.
