Bronzer or contour suggestions needed

Hello again! Since I get great advice from everyone here, I'm looking for more!

It doesn't need to be MAC, I'll take whatever suggestions you have.

I am an NC20 in MAC foundation, and I am interested in using a contour color or even a bronzer, but I cannot find the right color for me!

My wonderful MUA at MAC and I have tried just about everything. She's even told me that no MAC bronzer works for me; it ALWAYS looks orangey or really fake. We've even gone over using a darker powder color, but that didn't turn out the best, either. The best we figured out was using charcoal brown eyeshadow as a contour, but seeing as I kind of stink at applying it, I feel like my face just looks dirty.

Anyone else out there with a problem finding colors? What are some good ones that won't make me look like a pumpkin!

Well, that's another thing: A blush brush is next on my to-buy list! I'm using some no-name brush I've had forever, and I know I need a 'real' brush! Suggestions for that would be great, too!

i highly recommend the #168. i use it for contouring because of the angular shape, and also for blush because of its softness. it's easy to blend. it's a little expensive but i've had mine for at least five years and it's still like new. i like it so much that i'm confident it'll solve your problem applying powdery cheek products.

The bronzers in the Dior summer collection are divine. Since you're a NC20 I would try shade 001 first. I just got both of them last week and am LOVING them.

Is that the Healthy Glow powder? I may have to go check those out!

The box says "Diorskin Nude Glow". Here's a link to a post I made with a couple of pictures I took of them. I haven't taken any swatches of them personally yet, but I bet you can find some around here somewhere! :)

Ooh, I think they're the same! This is what I found on their site http://www.dior.com/beauty/usa/en/makeup/look/summer_look/y0727700/py0727700.html

Thanks, Janice!

I love using the 109 or 168 to contour, as they hug the planes of the face nicely and make blending a breeze.. I think any similar shaped brush would do. Running through your neutral eye shadows can be a great place to start if you have a lot of them. Generally speaking, contour shades tend to run with a more grey undertone since most people don't have 'bronze' shadows on their face.. but it doesn't have to have too much contrast against your skin (which can end up looking dirty).

for bronzer i actually use the E.L.F ones because they are very pigminted and even more affordable! and if you dont like it oh well whats a dollar! i have tons of MAC products but i am most impressed by this product.

I've used hoolah bronzer before to contour and it works great - you have to use a light hand though, otherwise it will be a little muddy. Also I really like physician's formula bronzers to contour as well.

Wow, everyone's given such great recommendations! As of right now, I picked up the MAC 168 brush and I ordered the Dior blush Janice suggested. That brush is somehow magic. I'm always amazed what a good quality brush can do!

I will definitely keep all the other suggestion in mind; I love to try new things so I'll probably be systematically going through the list!

Thanks again, everyone!

So, I got my Dior bronzer a few days ago, so I'm still fairly new with using it, but I must say.... It's kind of like magic on my face. I'm really loving it!

As an aside, an Ulta just opened up near me; the first one ever! It's awesome! Anything I should be on the lookout for there?

I have the Honey Bronze -- if you are light, this might not work well for you.. I pull a bit orangey with it.

Try Blonde Bronzer.. it is one of the best for lighter skins.
