Do MAC shadows only cooperate with $25 brushes?

Most of the ones I have go on really lightly and I have to apply them about 3 times, and I think it has to do with the brushes I'm using.

I don't think so, I use Sephora and Ulta brushes and they go on fine hon

i dont own any mac brushes but i use pout and colour goes on fine. maybe you need to load your brush more to build up the colour. HTH

It's more the composition of the brush than the branding. For eyeshadows you want something of a semi-firm natural fibre if you want dense color.

Yep,.. I do love my 242 from MAC,.. but the Sonia Kashuk shadow brush I picked up at target is really good too. Really soft shadow brushes don't deposit much color.

i own some laura gellar brushes which are wonderful, but i also use Sonia Kashuk's travel kit everyday too. it includes some great all over brushes, a blush brush i use to create a contour line, some good liner brushes, it's just great.
