Darker skin on the back side of my body

Hi girls!

I'm Indian and have noticed that I have darker skin on my lower back and buttocks than I do on the rest of my body. This really bothers me and I wish my entire body were the same skin tone. I have heard that other woc also have this problem. I was just wondering if any of you that also share this problem have found a solution?

My youngest son has the same thing, except it goes all the way down to his legs & feet- his skin is so different to his upper body that I've had people ask if he's wearing tights :/
We get lots of comments about it being a genetic trait among Indians (they assume it's because I'm part Indian). My father's entire family is Indian & nobody has it, & neither do my other two sons.
We're trying to teach him to be comfortable with his body so we're not hiding it or trying to lighten it with creams etc, but I'd be interested to know if anyone has info on why this happens.
