I hate it sooo much when ppl self ritschiously say to me or say loud enough so i can hear : "I don't need makeup" saying that they don't wear it bc they are so freakin beautiful that they don't need it. I don't wear it bc i think im ugly and need to make myself better, i think its fun and artistic! sorry i just had to rant about this to ppl who would actually understand lol!

That used to happen to me mainly in high school, but not anymore. Thank God. Now people just talk to me more. I guess they think i'm outgoing, haha. Its actually helped me in my social skills a bit. Perhaps the people you deal with when you get older wear make up too, so they're not so fast to pass judgement. Hmmm..makeup is never a bad thing!

A wonderful quote I heard once on QVC: "The women who don't wear make-up are the most conceited because they feel like they are perfect without any help" or something to that effect. EVERY WOMAN NEEDS AND SHOULD WEAR MAKEUP!!! It's what separates us from the men =)

I agree with why you enjoy make-up. I think its fun & artistic too..its how I am able to relax in my crazy day...unless something doesn't work for me *hehe*

That doesn't bother me as much as people who say "I don't need moisturizer" or "I don't need foundation"

Most people who say they don't need makeup are kidding themselves! Although there are some women (the rare few) who are absolutely spectacular without makeup, the rest of us mere mortals can benefit from a bit of powder or lipstick.

Despite all this, I will say there are some people who do such a heinous job with makeup that they do look somewhat better without it. Better to look plain & average than to look like a really bad drag-queen. As a fat chick, I am always afraid of going overboard with the blue/aqua/teal eyeshadow and ending up looking like Mimi from "Drew Carey." LOL

I agree with you! My makeup is an outlet for me and a way for me to express myself.
I think some people and this goes for men too just don't get they hype of makeup expression.
I agree with Cruella there are very few women that do not need make up.

I think it is BEYOND rude when someone has to justify what they don't understand or don't like.
I have a sister in law that really pissed me off. When she was getting married I offered to do her m/u and hair. She told me that my brother in-law didn't like her in a lot of m/u. That she probably was not going to wear any. Keep mind I just got done doing 3 weddings around that time and what I put on myself does not mean that is what I would use for a wedding. I said fine and tried to move on in the converstion. I was already upset that I was the only family member not involved in the wedding. She just kept going on and on about how she doesn't like makeup on her or anyone else. I was flamed!!!!!!!!! Instead of pointing out to her the obvious dark circles under your eyes or the fact that she did have eyeliner on that day that was not even close to being near the lash line. I just let things go. I figured between the 2 of us she was the rude one not me. Funny how her pics turned out so bad that she hand them photoshopped/airbrushed. She paid major money for a video that she wanted to give to her siblings but ended up not making copies for anyone! That right there just made me laugh!

People will always do and say things that go against what others love. You have to learn how to block them out because they will never understand.

Omg I totally hate that too! And I also do my makeup just because it's fun and makes me look forward to my day, not to attract people. One of my guys friends yesterday asked me why I couldn't be like other girls who don't wear makeup cuz he thinks wearing too much makeup looks "whore-ish" and I don't think I even put on that much, only just bright colors. But I really think it's funny cuz even some girls who "don't" wear makeup are wearing just as much or more make up than I am.....only difference is that it looks natural and they're trying to hide something.

I'm outing myself! I used to be one of those 'what's makeup for?' girls, in high school. I wear it now, not because I feel I need to, but because it's fun. I don't like it when my mum tells me that I would be prettier if I wore it everyday. That's just mean. I personally don't like her makeup look but I don't criticise her for it.

I'm glad now that I understand that makeup is just one of those artistic expression things, like the clothing you wear etc. Under no circumstances do I feel that every girl needs it, and I feel really sorry for the ones that feel they can't go outside unless they've done their faces. Of course you can: it's just that you've convinced yourself you can't, thanks to our appearance-obsessed society. It's genuinely sad.
