UPDATE - Please see my thread two up from here. I got my money back seller was really great about it. More info in other thread.
Hi

I bought this Gold pigment on ebay nearly two weeks ago from mlrosati.

I sent her a message asking if this is a discontinued colour and what the batch number was. She replied "I'm not sure if it's been discon. The # is A47".

Oh goodness me - please tell me this is not going to be a fake when I get it. I couldn't stand it.

Here is the listing:

M.A.C. PIGMENT EYE SHADOW 'GOLD' MAC NO SHIPP - eBay MAC, Eye Shadow, Makeup, Health Beauty. (end time 09-Mar-09 05:04:16 AEDST)

When it arrives this week I'll post some photos up. Has anyone bought pigments from her before?

I tell you what - this fake business is really starting to get my goat!

Where the hell am I supposed to get all these hard to get colours if they sell out of them in stores and then they have limited colours on the mac australian site - and I'm nowhere near a pro site? Who does everyone buy off???

Thanks guys

Deb.

If you want to be sure you don't buy fakes, the only guaranteed way is to buy directly from M·A·C

If you buy M·A·C on eBay, especially pigments, there is every chance you will be buying fakes and you have to accept that. It's the risk you take.

The picture in the eBay listing is so fuzzy it's impossible to tell one way or the other.

^^ITA, the pic isnt clear enough to say. What I will say it that seller is known for selling counterfeits though so dont be surprised if it arrives and it isnt what you were expecting.

Dont ever buy pigments off AU ebay - I'm aussie too and I can tell you that nearly all of them are fakes!!

If you want soem more info on your chocolate brown piggie PM your email addy and I will chat to you there

OK what should I do? Should I email the seller and ask her to confirm that the pigment is authentic before I receive it? Just to let her know I'm onto it? Or do I wait until I get it then tell her? I'm 99% sure now that it's going to be fake. Another wasted $50.

I'm not sure how to go about it.

If the seller is sending out counterfeit pigments and knows it they won't tell you so, will they? They'll lie. Wait until you get the pigment and post some clear pictures here.

Until we see the pigment properly we don't know. It may be genuine and it may not.

Agreed with caffn8me. They would tell you anything you want to hear just to sell the items and get $$ out of it. They do not care about the welfare of other people and even if they know its counterfeit, they'd still sell it to unsuspecting buyers just to get their money back and make a profit out of it. I do understand some sellers have found out about counterfeit MAC and actually stopped selling and refunded the buyers. They are the honest ones to look out for... We know a few honest and reliable sellers who came here to seek the truth (LOVE YOU, JULIE!!! XOXOXO). As for the rest of the counterfeit MAC sellers, they are known for their dishonesty... The most we could do is warn others about fake MAC and counterfeit criminals. MAC would have given caffn8me the detective job already if they really cared about other people being ripped off and stop MAC counterfeiters... Not that easy though. :/

mlrosati is also blacklisted in the hall of shame, ie eBay Sellers/Fakers to AVOID.

As for (((Julie ))) yeah I agree with the above comment she is one of the few sellers left on eBay ,who is very helpful and genuine person to deal with .. especially when it comes to giving any advice.
It's a bloody pity that eBay and Mac won't pay some sort of proper wages to Sarah "caffand8me" for all her detective work !I wonder how many peeps have been saved from wasting their dough on these fake Mac,by Sarah

For all the eBay newbies or newly addicted Mac lovers, please ,please note some sellers knowingly put in their auctions statements such as "these Mac pigments was bought in America etc,etc as to make the pigments "sound more authentic" !they will put any old crap to decieve the prospective bidder!Bought in US,via China!! please BEWARE of such statements !
I posted this on the other thread but here we go again:BUNDLE OF MAC URBAN DECAY, VIRGIN AND SANCTUARY MAKEUP on eBay, also, Eye Shadow, Make-Up Cosmetics, Health Beauty (end time 26-Feb-09 20:00:00 GMT) So according to this seller now we have Mac stores, in US selling fakes!!This week this is the 2nd time i heard the same excuse from sellers..bought these Mac 12 eyeshadows palettes in MAC outlet in Florida, and sold some @Mac party"!!Whatttt !!???
