Eyeshadows- help!

I've tried quite few different eyeshadow colours/shades but can't seem to find anything I really like..

I'm kinda scared of dark colours and pastels seem to make my face look really dark when I have my bare minerals on. My hair is currently dark brown with bright blondey highlights, unlike some of these pictures.

Hopefully you can get an idea of my colouring from these pictures.. :/

Would you be able to give like, specific colours from mac, ud etc. I've tried shummery nuetrals etc before but.. yeah. The only colour I've liked so far is Midnight Cowboy Rides Again.
