Giving the heads up about this seller:

Auctions:

(photo nicked from a counterfeit seller - probably charleyandemily as it looks identical to theirs)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mac-Eyeshadow-...QQcmdZViewItem
(Notice the printed on bar code - MAC has stickered barcodes, the very high MAC logo on the jar, the lack of a colour name - even though they have both the jar and the box, the placement of the box - not showing the front)

(Same as above)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mac-Eyeshadow-...QQcmdZViewItem
(Same as above, but notice the cheap looking pigment inside the jar)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mac-Eyeshadow-...QQcmdZViewItem
(Same as above, but notice the number '76' on the (clear) base sticker - classic counterfeit trait, no MAC has just a number or batchcode (A43) on the jar and/or box stickers)

(These dont look like Gold Pigment, they look closer to Old Gold)

I messaged them to tell them they were counterfeit, and that they should take them down. Their replies:

"
no its not, its genuine. i have reciepts for them."

"
hi, my items are not counterfeit, i dont know what gives you this idea but please dont bid if you feel that way. i have tried my best to describe the shades and i dont condone fake items being sold on ebay as i have been on the recieving end and i know how it feels."

the printed barcode on the bottom is a give away, but I have say the quality of the packaging right down to batch codes being dot printed on the back of the boxes is quite alarming..... the jars are improving as well and soon there really isnt going to be any way to tell!

on another note, anyone know who bumslasher is???? this person bids on so many pigments it isnt funny - you would wonder how they didnt know the difference by now, I have seen them bid on real and fakes, perhaps they just dont care...lol!

bumslasher? What a bizarre name! It does seem a bit odd especially as they haven't sold anything recently bar 2 MAC postcards - unless they are selling on another site that has less of a policy about counterfeit makeup than ebay (hard to believe lol).

http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/item-fb?...&Chec k=Check

They seem to be a novice to MAC and collecting everything they can find - maybe to sell later when it becomes rare (postcards etc).

Sorry for the very long double post but this seller has got under my skin - first she says there is no way they can be fakes as she 'has receipts', then she blames another seller for giving her the photos (which is both a validation to what i was telling her - because she would have known from looking at them that they are fakes if she had the real thing - and then why no colour names in the auction?, and a complete lie - another lie being that she said the pigs came from a job lot with olay and chanel makeup), them she leaves feedback for a seller in China that sold her 24 pigments for.... 23 british pounds! This was a buy it now - she could have got them for 13 pounds had she been familiar with ebay...
Well you guessed it - the pigments on the China auction are those that she's selling (oh the big surprise...) She told me she wouldnt sell any more after these (which i made it clear i wasnt happy about), but then she puts up more of the damn things.

Ive reported her pigments about 3 times already. She said that the white pigment was called " crystal avalanche" - thats not even a pigment, its an eyeshadow!

Conversation went as follows:
Me: "
This is a counterfeit item, please remove it."

Her: "
no its not, its genuine. i have reciepts for them."

Me: "
To start with the photo of the white pig is from another seller (one that sells fakes) - this is against ebay policy, and your account can be suspended for this.

You are blatantly lying about these for the following reasons:
- All mac pigments (pig/pigs) have names (Night Light, Dark Soul etc), they never have just numbers or batch codes (eg A43). These are traits only seen in very fake MAC.
Please see the following evidence from a MAC site:

http://www.specktra.net/showthread.php?t=69309

- The bar codes on your pigs boxes are printed on, and all of MACs products have sticker bar codes.

- The MAC logo on the jars is too high up.

- Some fake MAC have very thick bases on the jars, however the thinner based jars are more widely used now as people are getting wise due to 'counterfeit guides'."

Her: "
hi, my items are not counterfeit, i dont know what gives you this idea but please dont bid if you feel that way. i have tried my best to describe the shades and i dont condone fake items being sold on ebay as i have been on the recieving end and i know how it feels."

Me: "
The photos from the other auctions are yours though? These are the ones that are fakes - i only knew the white was a fake as i know the seller that you took it from (not personally, but through reputation). Please remove all of your MAC pigments - they are ALL counterfeit and have been reported."

Her: "
i am editing the photos as we speak, the only reason i copied a picture was become i didnt have a camera to had, i have all serial numbers and batch numbers for each mac pigment i am selling. im sorry i didnt realise the person i took the photo from was selling fake items but i will know for next time."

Me: "
I dont think you are getting the point - if your items are that of the photos (ie have the traits i have written about such as numbers instead of names), then they are counterfeit. If they are counterfeit it is ILLEGAL and AGAINST EBAY POLICY. I t is also IMMORAL - you dont know how these products will react on the skin of the buyer - what kind of person would risk blinding someone for a bit of cash. Take them to your nearest MAC if you dont believe me, or go onto the MAC site and ask questions regarding the info i gave you (ask through Live Chat - a free service to anyone)."

Her: "
the other pictures are from another ebayer whom i asked permission before using and as i understand this doesnt violate ebay rules because it is the actual item i am selling. it was a job lot of mac, chanel and olay items that i bought and im trying to sell on. ive never had any problems before but i wont sell anymore after this."

Me: "
http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:-5txibmVRAEJ:www.maccosmetics.com/templates/products/sp.tmpl%3FCATEGORY_ID%3DCATEGORY15103%26PRODUCT_ID %3DPROD1503+%22crystal+avalanche%22+mac&hl=en&ct=c lnk&cd=1&gl=uk

The shade you mentioned is an eyeshadow not a pigment - there has never been a pigment of that name before."

Her: "
i get your point mate but like i said, the shade is crystal avalanche and i have checked all the ingredients against other mac products, its legit, what else can i say, i can provide you with more pics actually showing the shades on them."

Me (just now) : "
Not only have you put up more of these fake pigments - you have made the new auctions private. You are a dishonest and immoral seller. How can you justify putting peoples health at risk? Let it be known if any of these items harm a buyer you will be liable - ie you can be personally sued. On top of this the sale of counterfeit makeup is illegal - if you are personally sued, then you will also be charged with the sale of counterfeit makeup. You will also lose your ebay account (though this will be the least of your problems).
*I also sent them the link to the auction they bought them from, and quoted what they wrote about the receipt etc*.

Ive also sent the winning bidders the link to the China auction, and an explanation as to the auctions they won. Funny thing is if this seller actually admitted that they were selling fakes and didnt put anymore up i would have probably chalked it up to experience and not chased the winning bidders down (it may also have something to do with the fact i have a viral bug and havent been able to sleep well for the last week... Which subsequently means i have too much time on my hands!)
