falsies on your REAL lashes....?

so, yesterday, i went to mac to visit....and stuff....and i was chitchatting with alicia, my fav MA.

at one point she was helping a customer and i was looking at her lashes. i could not see any glue or anything on her lid, but i knew the lashes were fake. i kind of forgot about it until she was talking to me and she said "oh, breanna, do you notice anything about my lashes?!" and then she closed her eyes and i got a closer look. i was like "what did you do?"

she had glued them onto her real lashes....yeah, i know right. i asked her where she got that idea and she said when she was at basic her trainer, laura, taught them that...

she also said that, when pulling them off, her real lashes do not come off with the falsies. she glues them to her real lashes because it is allergy season and they irritate her eyes.

just thought you guys would be interested.
has anyone heard of this before?

seems to me that'd made your lashes/lids feel reaaally heavy. but if you can bear it, go on with ya bad self.

Yep. I have heard of that. Actually, there are several makeup artists that recommmend that you apply false lashes to your natural lashes instead of your eyelid.

Sounds really cool. I think this might be easier than trying to get them so close to the lash line. I'll give it a try

Or could it be like the asian technique kind where it takes about 2 hours and they glue lashes to each individual lash and they can last from 2 weeks to 2 mo. depending on how u take care of them. If anyone can show me how to do this myself I would love to try. THanks!!!!

^ i think what your refering to is eyelash extension, i believe you need a professional to do them though. it is getting quite popular though...

Ideally they go on your lash root but really snuggled up under to the tiny little ridge of skin where the lashes grow from. They last really well that way because there's more texture and 'real estate' for the lash glue to grip onto, and that tiny little ridge of skin helps to lightly conceal the band. Generally you don't glue strip lashes to your lids because it looks really blocky and noticeable.

As for feeling a little heavy, remember back to when you wore false lashes for the first time - iit has a touch of that weighty sensation, but it only lasts a few minutes before you get used to it.

Huh. I didn't know it was common to glue lashes onto your lid!

I am going to have to try this. I haven't tried using lashes yet but I think they look so pretty.

i don't think i'd do that to my lashes, but i'm pretty good with applying strip lashes up against the lash line - it took me YEARS of practice to get the technique right!

so wait..how exactly does one do this? ive never applied them myself, my mom always does it for me haha but i dont get it..would u glue the strip right on the top of the lashes? wouldnt that make the falsies stick up more than the real ones?

I think you mean eyelash extensions? I've had that done, which was pretty cool. Saved me having to apply mascara everyday.

my boss got that done...and she said it bothered her so much that she pulled them all out.

i work in a nail salon and a lot of women come in with them and they say they have no problem with it except they are expensive and take forever to have them put on.

wow... I dunno about this one.. When I take my falsies off at the end of the day, and they are stuck to my real lashes, even just a little bit, it hurts to pull them off.

I got the ardell individual ones, and glued each tiny bouquet to my real lashes. They look super natural, in the beggining I had only applied a few in each corner of the eye, they last forever, I removed eye make-up and mascara amd still lasted me for 2 weeks. Application was a breeze and this is my second experience with fake lashes. However i do have to mention I have used the clear glue that came with the set, not the regular strip glue. I will try to take a pic and post it here.

I had this done one time and I was not a fan. The lashes were supposed to last for at least two weeks but I had them coming off here and there within a couple of days. On top of that, when I decided to go ahead and remove them all, I had to buy a special product to dissolve the glue. It was all too traumatic for me, lol!

I heard about that too...but do you really need it with the transparent strips they come on nowadays?
