Filling Out MAC application Questions

Hello makeup lovers,

Today I went to a MAC counter to get the new Viva Glam Nikki and the manager loved my makeup and outfit and asked me to fill out an application for her and I did. Is this normal? I usually hear of people giving them their resume. Would this be relevant in getting a job there, or do people usually get to fill out an application later on?
