First timer for lipcolour

I'm looking for some advice on lip colours...

Basically I have never tried any colours on my lips (only ever clear glosses and balms) because of my facial hair... now I've had laser removal (my first treatment) and want to experiment! I'm going to MAC next week and would love some rec's that would suit my colouring, I'm NC20 with bright red hair and green/blue eyes. I love wearing bright eye colours (like greens, blues, reds - current fave combo is Meadowland/Metamorph) so would need something that would be ok balancing that out.

General colours/tones to look out for would be great, but I'd also love specific rec's for MAC shades if poss

If you've never tried colors on your lips start subtle with something like Hug Me or Viva Glam V which are great nudes or for something more pink how about Prrr l/g.
