It is much easier to tell by looking at a picture of it. Can you give a link to the eBay listing so we can see?

I'm not quite sure, but some of the MAC brushes I have are made in France, and Japan. And I bought them from the MAC official counters. Maybe some are made in the US? By the way, I heard that some MAC brushes are made by www.hakuho-do.co.jp

Only, going through my brush collection (all of which were purchased from M·A·C stores), the ones that are marked with a country of origin are as follows;

  • 17 - France*
  • 102 - Japan
  • 145 - Japan*
  • 192 - USA
  • 217 - Japan
  • 219 - Japan
  • 222 - Japan
  • 224 - France
  • 249 - France
  • 266 - France
  • 316 - France

* what I hear you ask are a 17 and a 145 brush? The 17 is the original number for a covered lip brush - now known as 316. The 145 seems to be almost identical to the 180 but I haven't done a side-by-side comparison yet. Needless to say, both were purchased a very long time ago!

To answer the question, my genuine M·A·C foundation brush (192) is made in the USA

Both my full-sized 190 foundation brushes are marked USA. They were both bought directly from MAC counters, so I know they're genuine.
