I went in with hair like this

and asked if I could get something along the lines of this picture:

And I came out with this:

It's a little shorter than I wanted, and she thinned it out a lot, but I think it will grow on me. My problem is, my hair is naturally wavy/curly and this style would look best straightened [I haven't had the chance to see how it would look naturally] and in the last picture, you can see how it kinda goes in and it makes it look kind of mullet-y [even after its been straightened]. She thinned my hair out A LOT [emphasis on a lot], I had really thick hair before, and now when I hold my hair in a ponytail there's hardly any hair. Is there any way I can keep my hair straight [especially in this humid weather] so that it won't look mullet-y? Or any way other way to style it?

omgg we r on the SAME BOAT. i also brought a pic.. and well THERE WAS REALLY NO POINT becuz the hairdresser cut my hair totally short and mullety and the top layers are so short and almost mushroom-like. *sigh* anyhoo.. yes straightening it will make it look longer. I invested in a Chi flat iron (not without using Paul Mitchell serum first!) The only thing with my hair is that the shortest layers are so short that it doesn't quite straighten like i want it to.

There is always putting it in a pouf which make the mullet/mushroom syndrome less obvious. You take your top hairs (about 2 inches wide), twist, make a pouf, and bobby pin em. It's a cute, clean style and you won't have to straighten your hair everyday (very damaging).

oooooooh my gosh!!!!
I have the exact same hair cut (except my bangs are way shorter) and the same thing is happening to me. It's shorter than I ask for and they took out a lot of bulk and I feel like I have a mullet.

At least I'm not alone. (although I think your hair looks nice, mine looks a mess)

I would do that, but I have a big forehead and I need bangs to cover it up, lmao.

It's nice to know I'm not on the same boat!

I just feel kind of naked, because my hair is EXTREMELY thinned out.
