Hard Candy!

I was finally able to get my hands on some of the products today!!!!! The Walmart that had the updated display but no products as of Sunday had most of the products out today, actually, everything but 5 of the Meteor-Eyes and one of the Powder Kegs I think. Anyway, I got the two Meteor-Eyes that were in stock - Supernova (the purple one) and Black Hole (the black one) but I haven't opened them yet. I got the Moon Glow powder. Seriously, for $8 how can you pass that up? I actually like it; I was worried it would come off ashy for me, but it didn't. I do find the sparkle to be a bit more obvious that I would have preferred. I think something a bit more subtle would have made the product fantastic. I'm going to keep playing around with it though. It's worth keeping.

I got 2 Hot Smudge Liners, in Rebel (blue/white iridescent glitter) and Stunt Double (purple/brown-black). I think these, for me anyway, are going to work better as shadow bases/cream shadows than anything else. The color payoff, when used with a synthetic eye shadow brush, is actually pretty decent, but as a liner, I just don't think the brighter colors are going to pop enough. A liquid liner would work better. I am sure the darker shades would be fine for a smokey liner though. I might pick up two more of the cream liner duos if I like how these two perform.

I'm didn't get any Powder Kegs. I want to read some reviews/see swatches first. I also didn't get any of the Take Me Out liners (glitter or regular). I saw a couple of bad youtube reviews on the original ones, and apparently there isn't a lot of actual product, so I'm passing.

Also, does anyone know if Welcome Matte is a setting powder, blotting powder, or both?

Buuuuut, I didn't have the money at the time to buy anything. From looks;

Meteor-Eyes: all look gorgeous.. I know I'm picking up half of them (the grey sparkle, purple, and blue)

Moon Glow: I'd have to see this swatched because the product looked eh.

Welcome Matte: same as above.. can't really say much about matting powders!

Powder Keg: Loved some of these. I'm interested in Dagger, Groupie, Kryptonite, and the purple one that starts with 'S' (Sinner?).

As for the 1,000 Lashes, I'm definitely interested in the product! Drugstore fiber mascaras, finally!

Last two.. the Hot Smudge and new Take Out liners. Not too interested unless I see some other awesome swatches!

Anyone else see/get anything yet??

The colors look sooo pretty! The powder kegs are so cute! Has anyone tried the mascara? I miss wearing mascara, but I lose lashes from it.

I picked up the other 5 Meteor-Eyes today as well as Welcome Matte and some little plastic trays for my HC eye shadows. Yay, I'm so happy. Anyone notice that Welcome Matte smells like vanilla? Yum...

Okay, glad it wasn't just me! I sniffed it, and kept sniffing it because it is strong enough not to be a coincidence, but not too strong. It reminds me of the TF bronzer that smells like chocolate. I like it. I wish Moon Glow smelled like something now...

I went to five, YES FIVE Wal-Marts today and the closest I got to any of the new products was an updated display case with spaces for the Meteor-Eyes, Moon Glow, etc. but no actual products.

And you may wonder why I just didn't call before wasting my gas and time? I did, but at none, yes NONE of the Wal-Marts I called ever had someone ANSWER the PHONE! (I had this same problem with Sam's Clubs last year when I was trying to get price quotes for tires. I had to call over and over again, often calling different departments, and let the phone ring and ring and ring before anyone ever answered)

Seriously? Seriously? Also, Wal-Mart, please update your site with the actual hours of operation for your locations. That would be helpful. Soooooooo over it!

Rant over.

I thought they were 24hours? I guess not.

Nope. Some are, most aren't as far as I'm aware.

Most of the ones around me close at 12. I think there might be 2 in the closest 7 that are 24hrs. I feel like now that there are more Walmarts (I think there have been 3 or 4 built near me in the last 5 or so years) fewer of them are 24hrs...

Only the Super Walmarts here are open 24 hours. There are two or three in my area. The others are regular or neighborhood Walmarts. I caved in and was going to buy the mascara, mascara primer, and metal liners...but they had everything but that! I was seriously thinking about the Moon Glow, but was afraid it would not work because my skin is so freaking oily.

Okay, this is going to seem like a silly question, but I never really get to browse make-up aisles in drug stores. (Nobody else I know enjoys it!) Is Light darker than Fair, or is it just that Light is pink-toned and Fair is yellow-toned? (I've heard conflicting stories.)

i tried the 1,000 lashes mascara today....the fiber one.
i got it in purple.
here what i think:
it works ok but the problem i kept having is that for some reason the brush feels.....dry? the formula isnt but maybe i think because of the little fibers stuck all over the brush doesnt allow the brush to comb(?) through my lashes. so i tried wiggling it at the base of my lashes and that helped a little bit...i dont know if im making sense...also i wish the purple showed up more, (you can see it a bit but i want more purple....lol ). im going to try a primer first. i think that would help with the color.

so the masara was pretty good for me. considering i tried the "curl ....(i forget the name)...curl up and dye?" and "ginormous" mascaras when the line came out and i hated those.

so yes, i think its worth a try. and plus, if you dont like it and think its a waste, you can return it.

Yeah, with colored mascara you really need a base, like a white mascara or a opaque primer (that doesn't dry clear). I had the same problem with the MAC colored mascaras from forever ago.

I was in Walmart tonight and decided to breeze by the Hard Candy display quickly, and I answered my own question: Light is definitely darker than Fair!

A few months ago I picked up one of their nail polishes in Splendid (yellow!) and I was disappointed. It was really thick and goopy, took forever to dry, and then cracked and chipped by the end of the second day of my manicure. I wish it had worked better because I adore the color, but what can you do? haha

I do really love their glitter though! Just not the containers, the brush that goes into it makes it a mess to work with. But the actual product is lovely!
