Help my depotted eyshadows are cracking =(

So I depotted all of my eyeshadows a few days ago and put them into two 15 pan palettes. I used the hairdyer method which worked well for me, I needed to adjust the instructions I followed from a website to help reduce the eyeshadows from getting destroyed in the process.

Most of them were fine but quite a few are cracking now and i've had to chuck the pieces away as they cause a big mess and start mixing into my other colours. Now my palletes look ugly =(

I'm begining to think it was a waste. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Also any tips on how to carry my palettes around with me in the safest way so the eyeshadows don't break?????????

You can put some rubbing alcohol on them and repress them. That might keep them from cracking and chunking.
