How do YOU correct uneven skintone? WOC..

Hi guys!

This is my first post!

I'm sure this may have been answered (if it has, please direct me to the right place) since WOC usually have issues with uneven skintone. At Mac I was match with NC45/C7 and I find that its too light. I'm looking for flawless natural skin (if that's possible) without getting that "mask" look.

How do you fix it?

*Do you go with the lighter color all over and then warm it with darker powder/bronzer?

*Do you mix foundation to get one color?

*Or do you just use two different foundations?

Any suggestions would be helpful!! ^_^

i use my concealers to even me out-i am not too uneven so i guess i am at a slight advantage. i know some people use different foundations for each part of the face. if you go to youtube.com and check out fauryn78 she has a great tutorial about this.
hope this helps!

Like Benzito, I use concealer also. For long term correction, I recommend using a scrub like apricot scrub and applying sunblock every day so that the areas of hyperpigmentation don't get darker.

I pretty much agree with everyone here on the makeup side but for the long term end, I've been using Black Soap and I actually had my Mac mua who's the manager, tell me that she uses the same thing. I've actually gotten other family members to use it and my mom loves it now. Many people don't like to use it since they say that it's too harsh but it's because they leave it on too long. My friends and family at one time thought that I was wearing makeup, before I actually started wearing makeup

. I learned the difference though in fake black soap (it looks pitch black in the shape of a regular soap bar) and real black soap (kinda hard to describe but it's more like a medium-brown color and it's soft, especially after you wash with it) . I've literally tried every face and lightening lotion and cleanser offered and this works for me. I also use MaMa Lotion for dark spots on my face (I have a ton all over my face!) .

AMBI's exfoliating wash FOR THE WIN!

I also have been using MAC's Studio Sculpt concealer (prior to my discovery of AMBI) over blemish discolorations for a flawless finish. Lastly, on top of that -- I am a loyal follower of MAC's Mineralized Skinfinish Natural.

Hope you this helped! Good Luck!

bio oil can help with uneven skin tone (and a multitude of other problems), but you do need to use it morning and night for at least a month before you can see any difference.

as far as make up goes, i'd try a light foundation such as face & body with a dusting of blot powder - it will just smooth the differences out but still look and feel very natural.

I'm not too uneven...But I use lighter concealer than my foundation on the areas that are slightly discolored prior to puttin on my actual foundation

I used to use Black Soap when I was younger and I can say that I remember loving it. I got it from a guy selling it and now I see it in stores but I'm skeptical. Where do you get yours?

i have hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and the sides of my face and have found a few products that have worked wonders for me. i do use black soap religiously and its good stuff but watch the water temperature when you rinse becuz if the water is too warm the soap can burn a bit. i use unrefined shea butter which is heaven on every part of the skin. sunscreen is very very helpful and should be used faithfully in the summer time becuz the suns rays can make dark areas darker. you can purchase black soap at some health food stores or Nasaab.com along with the shea butter. Black soap is not black its brownish and soft.caffeine too has a tendency to make the dark areas darker so watch your intake. i was prescribed Triluma skin cream for the dark areas and it does help with gradually reduce the dark areas. my mission is to treat my insides better so that way my outsides can radiate healthy. so drink lots of water chica! as far as the foundation issue. go lighter for the concealer or try a custom blended foundation. good luck!
