How to achieve this look ?

Well, I'm not really looking for product recommendation, but technique.

I like Nicole's eye look on this pic:

This is her other eye look that is I do not think as pretty as the first:

My question is what are the key things for her to achieve the first look, or in other words, what are the differences in eye m/u between the 2 do you think?

The top seems to be more of a smokey look and the crease is more defined and the eyeliner is smudged. In the second picture it looks like she's wearing a neautral peach-ish shadow with some eyeliner, maybe liquid liner.

it looks like for the first look, her mua just drew a cat eye type shape around her eyes and then smudged the liner out in a winged shape. then take a q-tip or some makeup remover to clean it up :]
