Gentle exfoliation would help. I had some MAJOR peeling on my nose and aspirin helped, rubbing it in gently of course. I recommend aspirin scrub if you aren't allergic to asprin and moisturize with a little EVOO (olive oil). Put a little in the palm of your hand and rub your palms to get it warm and apply gently

Use a body lotion with lactic acid, it helps the skin's natural peeling process. I use it all the time and my skin looks awesome after a few days of use.
Also exfolating gently.

I agree with aloe vera - it's in most after sun/sunburn lotions so I would say it is especially good for peeling, irritated skin.

I also recommend Neutrogena norwegian formula hand cream (fragrance free), which sounds a bit crazy but can be used on places other than the hands! Even if it doesn't work out, it will make your cuticles look amazing
