Don't worry about it.
I am sure at some point in time you will can get a product here and there. Even if you can't it's no big deal.

We all understand

you shouldnt be...there are girls here who cant afford a lot of MAC products. We do talk about other products besides MAC. Dont worry. We dont discriminate people who dont use MAC its rediculous. We all love Make up meaning all kinds of it not just MAC. Welcome to Specktra by the way!

Well welcome to the forums then! I hope you don't feel left out, we talk about lots of other cosmetic brands, bath & fashion, etc. You'll find something or another to participate in.

Welcome, I can't "afford" mac either, I just buy a lot. Mac is something i really had to get older and get a job to afford, although I shouldnt buy so much - I liked mac a long time ago but couldn't afford it at all. I really did decide to stop buying a lot of other things besides mac, but yeah- if its too expensive, I'd research on the site and FOTDs and pick out an eyeshadow here and there. I've heard good things about prestige- liners/etc.. and milani, as well as revlons super lustrous glosses are great too.

Awwww...up until about a year ago I couldn't afford MAC (That's at least 10 years of Jane & Wet & Wild-or whatever that $0.99 brand is) so I totally feel your pain. Just get your friends to buy it for you. hehehe.

But really, definitely look through the recommendations section. There are definitely some decent (and even some good) cheap makeup lines out there.

*Edit* I really should start taking my advice. I was doing my taxes & just figured that I spent just about 2% of my income on MAC last year. It may not seem like a lot, but when you're a college student living completely w/o parental help, with a million bills, it's totally no good. Oh well I guess!

Don't feel bad, I can't always afford MAC. Right now I need a MAC fix, but I can't get any at the moment. I think your fine. These are some very nice ladies.

I can't afford it either. I get it on ebay, here or other forums. I've never bought MAC retail.

Hey there! Don't worry about not having mac. I just joined Specktra in September, and I did not own a single MAC product. I'm a student, have no job, no car. I couldn't afford MAC even if I bought it through other means, but just seeing all the good things everyone had to say, I saved and saved! It was all worth it. This is a great community, with much more to go for itself than being a "mac forum." Everyone is nice, friendly, and caring. Don't feel left out! Please? Lol!

Don't feel left out! We chat about plenty of other things, if you'd care to join us, you're always welcome to, honest!!!

I too am one of those people that rarely buys MAC at retail prices, and this year I plan to really keep my MAC purchases to a minimum. And as some of the people above have said, there are decent, less expensive brands around.

There's really a lot of good stuff out there. I love Milani, and the Loreal HiP shadows are good & there's 2 shades in a pot. I've also recommended the Physician's Formula quads because I have some that are basic shades & it has great texture, I use it wet or dry, shadow or lining, and they're under $10 for the quad. I've got all the mattes. I like the Rimmel, and at Walgreens they have Isadora which has some beautiful quads & 3-shadow sets, and I really like them, & GREAT colors.

I was looking at some great shades on the Smashbox website, but they were all like a single shadow for $16, I think it was, and I am nuts for having spent what I have on the MAC's for $13.50, so I'm easing off unless it's something LE that I know I will use.
