I have 3 dozen eyeshadow duos from NARS-no crust. None of my NARS blushes have ever had a crust either except Orgasm, and I don't have a clue why.I never buy Orgasm anymore because it's too pale, and no one really blushes peach. Try Sertao,Sin,Outlaw,Crazed,Torrid,etc.....they are all universally flattering and have a fantastic texture.

I heard that rubbing a clean toothbrush helps get the residue off and it is from the oil in your skin. Certain Chanel blushes do this too.

I wonder if certain color pigments in makeup are more prone to the problem. I have Shadow Lady e/s by M.A.C. and it does this to me.

I have Orgasm and would agree that it's how you handle your product. I too don't have that problem. I can see how it could be a problem if it were a tester.

What is helpful is to store your makeup in a nonhumid area-not the bathroom! A traincase with moisture absorbing silica packets or cedar chips helps.Crusting seriously limits the life of the makeup!

It is likely the oils from your skin on your brush, but i actually have had the same problem with orgasm. I have at least half of the nars blushes and orgasm is the ONLY one that has done this to me (i work at the nars counter- and the orgasm tester always hardens, but none of the other testers) its really odd.

none of the NARS blushes i have form a crust. but i remembered reading this thread a while back and today i went to sephora with the intention of picking up orgasm. i really wanted a light glowy blush. well i went to test it and the tester in the store was ROCK HARD! i couldn't get enough on one of those sponge applicators to even swatch the color on my hand! so no orgasm for me. too much money to spend on a blush that's going to crust over!

Oh my gosh, I have the same problem with my Nars "Taj Mahal" blush. I'm always very meticulous about using clean brushes, and this is the only blush I've owned that's gotten crusty like this. I've heard from a friend that pressing a piece of scotch tape on the surface of eye shadows will get rid of the crust, so I guess I'll try it for this, too.

That is very strange because my Nars blushes don't have that problem. If it's only with the Orgasm blush, maybe it's the pigment used? ):

never happened with mine and I have purchased 2(used it right down to the metal)...maybe you are pressing down too hard with your brush therefore compacting it....or your brush is too soft?....could be so many things.

I haven't read every post here, but that SAME thing happened to me! I got Orgasm because I love frosted peaches on my cheeks. Orgasm kept crusting and didn't have very much color payoff to begin with. I am NW20 and I had trouble getting it to show up!! Ugh! I gave it to my friend because I just coudln't stand it anymore! I'll just stick to Peaches, Fleurry, and Sunbasque!

Edit: My Verve-acious Iridescent Pressed Powder has gotten the same kind of crust. A few of my MAC shadows as well. I'll try the tape idea. Thanks!

I had a MAC studio fix powder that would do that to me when I was near the end of it. Every time it was scraped off, it'd just come back after using it 2 days later. It was a huge pain, and now I cant see myself buying nars orgasm if the same things going to happen.

I don't own Orgasm blush but I'm still going home and washing all of my brushes just in case. i keep them clean most of the time but i am going to double check just incase. I don't want any crust forming on my blushes.
