expand your brush collection, like invest in some great MAC brushes, which ones would you get? I'm going to LA this weekend to visit my sister, and I'll finalllllly have money, and brushes are key so I'm going to not be cheap, and just get them because I know I won't regret it.

so which ones? and what would you store them in?

Me personally I'd definitely get me a nice blush brush like the #116 brush and I need something that goes along with my Fluidlines so I would say #209!

And the best way to store them in is definitely the Brush Clutch!
I store almost everything in it, brushes, eye kohls, lip liner, glitter eye liner, cotton swabs etc.

I've got most of the key brushes right now, but I'd like to get some backups for the ones I use most, like the 187, 222, and 242.

Face: 187, 129
Eye: 213, 275 (perfect for a light wash of color all over lid, but can really build color in layers with it too) and 224

Eyes - 217 for crease and blending, 239 for lid and brow highlight, 263 for lining and brows
Lip - 316 because you can take it with you!
Face - 180 for liquid foundation (this is the brush you should get, no other foundation brush will do!), powder, MSFs, and can do as a blush brush as well

I store my brushes in their little plastic sleeves in a juice glass, but put them in my traincase for travel. The brush clutch is definitely a good thing to pick up.

All right, so my list is...

129
187
228
242
259
263

I already have the 224, 222, 213, and 209 fullsized and the 219, 239, 168, 190, 252 and 316 SE brushes, which I think work well but I have more questions...

I think that the SE brushes I have are pretty decent in quality, but is there really a HUGE difference? AND if I have the 224 and 222, is the 217 necessary?

and, what do you use the 228 for?

hmmm...the 180 kind of looks like a kabuki brush right? how would that compare to the 182?

I find if you're looking for a powder brush there's a much cheaper and just as high quality brush as macs, the face secrets deluxe powder brush is awesome, they sell them at sally's beauty supply.

The 180 is flat topped whereas the 182 is rounded. I think the 180 is better with liquid foundations, although I have no personal experience with the 182. The bristles for the 180 are more dense so you get a firmer buff (if that makes sense:p). Also it's slightly cheaper

I would add to that the 239 (great for packing on color to the lid), the 272 (great for adding color to the crease), and the 266 (great for lining the eyes)
