i love MAC 'syrup' lustre lipstick, but i feel like it wears off SO quickly!

how do you all prolong the staying power of the lustres?

would a gloss over the top help? i really dont like the clear MAC gloss....

I line & fill in my lips before putting on the l/s. It really does seem to help!

Has anyone tried the Prep & Prime for lips? Is it supposed to give staying power for lipsticks?

Prep and prime lip helps immensly with lustre staying power! what i recommend is lining you lips and filling them in a bit after applying the lip primer, then another coat of primer (making sure to go OVER the lip line to prevent bleeding) and then going in with your lustre lippy...enjoy!

Does it change the color of the lipstick though? I mean, one reason I love lustres is because they're like tints, I don't really think I'd like them as much if it was just like applying them over something beige or white? thx =)

I never wear the mac clear gloss either.. BUT... have you ever tried Pro Longwear Gloss coat? Get "mirror" longwear gloss coat. It's very thin and stays on pretty well. it's not as goopy as the clear lipglass. and best of all.. i think it's only like 10.50 or something. rather than 16.50!

It makes your lips look so shiney and pretty!!

I love the Pro Longwear I bought, but it'll last all day for me if I don't put the gloss on it, because even with a lipliner the gloss makes it creep a little. At my age *ahem* I kind of have the fine cracks where lipstick can creep on my lipline. And I've never smoked & don't have a wrinkle problem there....it just DOES. But the plain color side of the tube is awesome! Now I need to find someone that can use the clear gloss when I use up the color someday. I bought some of the Tailormade lipglass, too, for some odd reason. Pretty colors I guess!

I did like that now you can buy refills of either plain or frosty gloss, I thought that was nice to have that option.

I must heartily concur with P+P for lips, as I mainly use lustre l/s as well, it'll help it stay on for most of the day, instead of wearing off in 3-4 hrs (if you're lucky).
