I'm not an expert, but it even tapers into the crimping like it is supposed to. Maybe they got it for a good deal at a CCO?

I'd say it's real. The fakes generally don't come in plastic sleeves which have barcodes on the, Even the very best 187 fakes also don't have the taper into the ferrule as Shawna says.

Also, please bear in mind that $8 is just the starting price - it may eventually sell for much more than this.
