I meant this to be in celebration of spring... then I woke up and it was snowing!

My first FOTD, so the camera work is a little iffy...

i assume you're using bare minerals makeup? the starter kit?
if so, just practice. mineral veil is your best friend for taking care of redness (trust me, i know! i suffer from horribly rosy cheeks and uneven skin!)... and while the brushes aren't as good quality as MAC ones are... they do the job well!

i love the lips! your combinations is *ALMOST* like a toned down version of melrose mood!

edit: a teensy bit of C/C! i can see a little bit of fallout in the picture before you do the full face shots! some people use loose powder and then brush it away when they're done... personally, i don't. if the shadow is 'looser', i just hold a tissue under my eye when i'm using that particular shadow

Actually, I'm using the Silk Naturals starter kit, but same thing! I definitely will practice more, though, and definitely use more veil.

And, you're so right about the fall-out, haha. I'm clumsy so loose shadows get all over the place when I use them! Thanks for the tip... I'll try the tissue!

excuse me if i sound like a dumbo (hehe), but... did your starter kit come with brushes? is it even bare essentials? i'm sooo out of the loop haha!

and no problem! i used to have the most horrible issue with fall out from shades like swimming and aquadisiac! you just have to make sure you know which shadows to use a tissue with

It doesn't come with brushes, but here is the link: Intro Foundation, Finishing Powder & Concealer Kit I like Silk Naturals because you can customize your own shade, and it's a really great price! Their Silk Perfecting Powder is amazing too.

If you don't have the 182, I'd recommend it. Either that or a flattop brush. They provide a lot of coverage, or way more than a powder brush can. I spray my brush first to make the finish less powdery before applying.

I suggest you go to the silk naturals forums and post your pic and ask the ladies how or what to use to reduce redness...the ladies there have so much experience with SN and have lots of hints and tips

ahh! i get it now.
somebody up there recommended something like the 182 brush, and i disagree with them slightly. it is nice to have that brush as a finisher for your mineral make up (i use the full coverage kabuki brush that came with my bare escentuals starter kit), but i find that a 'looser-haired' brush (pretty sure i'm not explaining this right and it makes no sense outside my own mind...) like the B.E. flawless application face brush for larger areas of your face and the maximum coverage concealer brush (also from B.E.) for smaller areas works very well before using your 'finisher brush'.

i have no idea what the MAC equiv's of these brushes are... but i'm sure if you took in a description of the brush, or told your MA what you were wanting to do with the brush, they'd be happy to help you out in choosing the appropriate one.
