Lipliner, is it a must for weddings?

I'm getting married in a couple months and the MA I talked to suggested that I fill in my lips with lipliner and then put lipstick on top of that. She said the lipliner would help the lipstick last longer.

My question is, do you guys think it is really necessary? I never wear lipliner, I'm more of a gloss girl - so I don't really want to shell out for something I'm going to use one time. However, if it will keep me from looking weird at the wedding, it'd probably be worth it.

Any other suggestions for great wedding lips are also welcome!

If you don't want to do that some girls put a tiny dusting of loose powder on to help it stay. You could try that instead.

I think its a really good idea. I find that when lips are too glossy it can look kind of strange in pictures. I would recommend finding a lip liner that closely matches the lip gloss or lipstick colour you're using. That way if the gloss or lipstick wears off you've still got some colour to your lips. And definitely line and fill in your lips otherwise you can get that gross dark lipliner light lips look which makes me want to vomit. Congrats on your wedding!!

Also, stick to rosey pinks for the lips. This works well for most skin tones. If you go too dark or too light with your lips, you will look weird in pictures.

I agree with the MA to line and fill in your lips with lipliner - it'll make lipstick stay on a lot better - also don't put too much shiny gloss on top; too much shimmer/shine/sparkle looks horrible in pictures - for wedding picture perfection, try a rosy neutral lipliner and lipstick.

What she said ^^^

Try Viva Glam V, it's one of those colours that looks nice on just about everyone, plus it's just the right amount of shiny. I agree that high-glosses, and metallic and pearly finishes look very odd in photos, and you don't want that for your wedding photos! The light will reflect off the most prominent parts of your lips and not off the recessed parts, so your bottom lip will look huge and the rest of your lips will look nonexistent, especially in photos that are not close-ups. And I know that Viva Glam V looks great in photos, I wear it quite often. Good luck!

i don't see anything wrong with getting married in lipgloss.

i personally am not a big fan of lipliner either, i usually only use it for photoshoots or if i'm wearing red lipstick.
