Looking for a lipstick base rec.

Can anyone recommend a good lip pencil or lip base? I really only use MAC, but I'm open to anything else. I have Fresh Brew lipstick, but I really don't have anything to use under it. So when I use it on my lips it just looks all wrong. Thanks if you can help!

prep and prime lip is a godsend. i use it under EVERYTHING and it makes all lip products last so much longer, even lustreglasses.

i'd apply a coat of prep and prime lip. wait for a few minutes. line and fill in with a neutral lipliner, then apply fresh brew with a lip brush. i find lip brushes apply the color so much better. personally, i love whirl as an everyday, lip pencil thats close to my liptone, but i'm sure it varies from person to person..

I love paul dorf perfect illusion. i use it when I don't want a liner but i don't want my lipcolor to bleed.
it is also great for glosses too.
makes everything last 2ce as long as well.
the invisible lipliner from cargo is fantastic as well,but I lost it about 2 days after I got it:roll:

I saw that sally hansen has a clear lipliner, i really want to try that,just haven't yet.
