DD is perfect on you. you look very pretty
If he's torturing you with letters, numbers and friendship, I guess it wouldn't be so bad..LOL!That is FRIGHTENING. I wouldn't want to visit his torture basement. /shiver
That type of shade is super finicky on me - when it doesn't work, it shouts it out about how bad it is on me. MAC definitely does a ton of this kind of color, though - more than any other makeup company I can think of. I bet there will be more of 'em this year before we're even fully out of Spring!
Mr. Merlot is a total flake. I can't even have an affair with that joker right now.![]()
You are lucky! I look like a freaking serial killer clown with them lol. That collection was just a horrible miss for me lol My make up skills have improved a ton since then so maybe I'll start giving them a try but I'll probably still look like a clown LOL hopefully the pink in playland will workI got mine in the Chen Man collection back in Feb, 2012. I'm not sure if it's ever been re-promoted? But, yeah. I've been trying to venture out and find more pinky/lavender colors myself. It's too bad you didn't like WMS. I love it on me. But, pinky corals, tend to look flattering on me. I guess that's why, I was bummed to miss out on Force Of Love. It was a bright pink/coral shade. I have the lipglass. But, it's not the same. Too sheer in my opinion. But, that's the point of tinted lipglasses. I just took what I could get. LOL!
Yah I wore that combination yesterday. If you got the new Nars New Attitude blush, Pink Lily looks adorable with it. They make the perfect Fembot look
Thanks, hunyou look very pretty![]()
Oh, I forgot to point out, I'm from the mountains of Virginia originally. This snow is nothing, but Portlanders never see snow, so people are losing their mindsI'm semi-snowed in in Portland (there's only one plow here, I'm sure, no roads have been plowed) and this thread is cracking my ass up. Bravo, lovelies!!
Perfect Topping is so pretty!!!!I went back to mall and went to Macy's this time and they had everything except for Petal Power. Snapdragon, Sassy Moss, and Petal Power were sold out in the other Mac store when I looked around this morning. I got to swatch Snapdragon at Macy's and found nothing special about it, I prefer Budding Love over SD. The display at the Macy's Mac store had yet another StereoPeachand PerfectBeige, but if you asked the MA's about either MSF they'd let you pick the MSFs with whatever veining or detail you like and none of them looked like Perfect Beiges except for the one on the display. Here's my Perfect Topping:The picture doesn't do much justice around the veining or the lavender sections, but it's really gorgeous in person! It's like a tiny planet! It's almost true to the description and swatches a bit lavendery. I like that it looks natural and soft instead of a glittery metallic beige mess. A bad selfie of me wearing Dreaming Dahlia:
Idk why my camera phone is so awful at capturing natural light. One side of my face looks beige while the rest is all pale, what the heck phone?! But yeah, mess aside and look at Dreaming Dahlia in action!
Dreaming Dahlia arm swatch comparisons:
Top left: Pamplelune (240) Guerlain Shine Automatique Bottom left: Dreaming Dahlia MAC Lustre Lipstick Top right: Tease Revlon Laquer Balm Bottom right: Hibiscus MAC Cremesheen My only peeve with MAC Lustres is that they melt, literally. I need to take extra care when it comes to lustres because no matter what temperature, the lipstick ends up either loose or melts. I don't have that problem with other finishes and other brands. -_-"
Iiba- Nicely done- astute obesrvation/assessment! Along these lines I've been rather perplexed by Christine (whose Temptalia insight and evalutionsWearing Pink Lily today![]()
I think one of the keys to wearing this one is dabbing the lipstick into the lips, not a real heavy application which will make it look weird & like cupcake icing. Almost letting it warm into your own natural lip shade. So darn pretty.
I think just about every lipstick MAC has come out with in the past couple of years, all these new formula revisions, benefit from a light application. I've always dabbed, mainly because of my lip shape, but pretty much every MAC lipstick, from Lustre to Dazzle to Retro Matte, does better with one light layer, a minute to dry down and synch with the color and temperature of the lips, and then another light layer, if necessary, to even out.
Another good side effect is that my lipsticks take a long time to use up! Plus I find I don't have to reapply as often through the day.
The formula on these definitely feels great. Have you tried wearing them blotted down yet? DD in particular looks amazing as a stain!![]()
oh yes i got DD is so pretty i love all the coral and oranges lipsticksThanks, hunDid you get it? You know it would look great on you, too

It's not exactly like Playtime or Pink Popcorn, but it's definitely related - a little closer to Pink Popcorn on me. Do you have either of those?Iiba- Nicely done- astute obesrvation/assessment! Along these lines I've been rather perplexed by Christine (whose Temptalia insight and evalutionshave become my cornerstone criteria for lipstick purchasing ) low scoring of these lipstick-owing primarily to their "lustre" finish and line demarcation upon pressing of her lips together "exactly what kind of super-hero pressing of lips is going on??"![]()

LOL, I was thinking that too when I read her review. Either she completely over-applied these lipsticks or she must make her husband a very happy man.![]()

Thanks! I do like MES and I don't need any more, but it did look very nice on Karen. T on the other hand made it look like a hot mess, so I'm glad to hear you liked themI never did get around to voicing my opinions about these MES. The formulas on them are really smooth and nice - like the best of Divine Night, but more pigmented - each one has one sheer color with sparkles and 3 smooooooth ones. The colors themselves are a little boring and subtle though. I liked the mauve/taupe one the best and I think they're a decent price for the fact you're getting 4 colors per, but you have to like MES and you also have to not have shades like these already, which would be a little hard to do, since they're not unusual colors. I didn't put any on hold, even though I liked them well enough - I don't need 'em.
Wise words that I definitely take to heart. Thank you.I am not Liba or Elegant, and
I am not on a low buy either .. I have done well in the last few years in the market. So financially, I am not suffering but emotionally I have been. And that does not mean that I have given myself free rein to buy makeup until I can't fit in my own house anymore. I think that anything in excess or limitations can be detrimental to our mental health.
I buy makeup sometimes to compare products (when I have worked on them) or simply as a substitute for my happiness -- which as I have stated before has been non existent for a few years now. I am also the addict in the lab -- I have more access to products than most people and can wind up doing a Tony Montana on a heap of white powder.. ha.
I think a lot of the mind set has been that LE products are "colllectibles" and that in and of itself is fallacious and deceptive. And, we have all seen where that's lead us in financial terms. It's not 1999 anymore, the dot com bubble burst, the stock market and banks crashed in 2008 -- it's time to be real in all senses. The economy (worldwide) is not healthy, and we are not out of the woods yet. A major depression (the one in 1929 lasted 19 years) was averted, and we should learn to conserve.
Now I will shut up.
And always time to be happy.![]()
My lone lippie came today and I love it! Dreaming Dahlia is exactly what I wanted it to be: an easy, throw-on coral for the Spring/Summer, that won't need a liner and brightens up my face. I'm just in loveI put Nars Torrid on my cheeks, since it's the perfect match.![]()

My Rose Lily held up rather nicely after an hour and a half of lecturing -with only minimal wear of after coffee drinking and trying to form words with tundra frozen lips on the way home! (someone yell POLAR VORTEX part deux?? -40 no windchill!Okay. Okay. maybe not minus 40 but it was no hot Junebug day in July!)![]()
