MAC A Fantasy of Flowers Collection (February 6, 2014)

Hi everyone- here's a couple of shots of the AMAZING work my MA did on me today at the FoF event: and before and after, haha: We used a ton of different products all over the place - what particularly stood out were the new correcting compacts and CC creams - there is zero contouring - he did it all using a combo of the yellow and violet correctors underneath some very light foundation. You'd never know! For the cheeks, he used a little Fleur d'Coral lipstick underneath new Stereo Rose, so that is gorgeous too, huh! The guy is incredibly talented!!!! He's even got an interview with the woman who is the head makeup artist for American Horror Story coming up, to be her assistant when they film their season in New Orleans. I really hope it works out for him - the guy's a makeup genius and very nice person too!

  Clearly your mom is a wise woman when it comes to the art of makeup and beauty! When Viva Glam Nicki came out, the makeup artist helping me was stressing how multifunctional the color was, and he put some on the apples of my cheeks---I was amazed at how fresh and lovely it was!

I need to try that!

WOW. Liba, you look incredible. Absolutely agree that this guy is a real artist- I just love how he built on your features to create such a striking look. I find it goes very well with what I can see of your clothing style. I haven't picked up anything from the collection yet (I'm always late with these things). So far the one thing that I'm really in love with is the chartreuse pigment, which just looked like it glowed when I swatched it. Seeing this look, though, makes me want to go and break the bank... I am kind of tempted by any or all of the cooler toned lipsticks. Which one fo you have on in these pics?

I used the violet CC under my eyes today....totally amazing. Also you ladies who are in the know of the difference in chemical/physical sunscreen would be glad to know it is PHYSICAL! Yay!

Well. Nevermind. Nordies cancelled my order for Phlox Garden. They still had it up on there site though. Kinda deceiving of them. But, I guess I will wait for another restock. I'm bummed.

Boo! They always do that. It is still available on the Canadian site though, and I think it may be possible to put in an order over the phone and have them ship it to you, even though you are in the US. I think that people were doing this for other products in previous releases. Just a thought!

Elegant-One, after undergoing my second treatment of Fraxel Repair a while back, ( and having a daughter in bio-cellular/stem cell research...) I can't begin to tell you how much my DermSurg's never-ending aria

on the merits of physical sunscreen has affected my usage of Micoronized Zinc and Iron Oxide in my sunscreen!! Currently I am using a cocktail of Skinceuticals Fusion and Rachel K CC cream ( gifted by a friend upon her return from Tokyo)! I have to say it has done miraculous wonders for encroaching hyper-pigmentation that I was beginning to lose sleep over... You might want to give this a try-

I wish we had Illa stores &/or counters here. I love their MU. I heard they are leaving Sephora & will be having more counters, it did not say where the counters would be. I know they've started selling at Bloomie's & that some Bloomie's have Illa, but not the one in my city, of course.

Everyone looks great though my nordies order should arrive tomorrow, it didn't sell out in my mall the day of the release and if I would of know I would of just waited but I def didn't want to take the chance and miss out. Hahaha this is like me right now. Except I only have half my face done lol my friend came over for a makeup lesson and I ended up only doing half my face as I showed her. I look so funny with only half done but I'm too lazy to take it off or do the rest . :haha:

We sat and chat about what I was going to be wearing and what sort of lighting conditions I was going to have later to show off the results before we even discussed products and colors. He's really adept at dealing with my under eye bags in a creative way with smokey, curving shadow, although next time I may make him try something new, just for the hell of it.

You must try Lilly-White if you're looking at the pigments. I also think the fluidlines are major ( but I love wearing bright colored wings on a regular basis). I believe we used Snapdragon on the lips, but it's applied on top of a layer of the violet CC cream, which lightened the color quite a bit. We used Playful Petal on top of the lipstick too. No lip liner! I would say if you're picking one of the pinks, go for SD or Rose Lilly - the look we did wound up looking quite similar to the way Rose Lilly by itself looks on me (but much more durable and a bit more opaque, obviously)

It's aight! I'll just wait it out and see. I was bummed earlier but, honestly thinking about it, I don't wear eyeliner very often during the week. I just don't have time for it, in the mornings. And on the weekends I don't wear makeup. So, It wouldn't be used all that much. I was just in love with the color. I'm sure there are other companies that make a color like that. And I don't have to rush to get it because, it's limited edition. But, I do love that color! I don't know! LOL!

oh rats.. I have a cream es from a few years back, which is still good -- Shu Uemura and the colour is almost identical. There are always options

Oh. I know. This one, just seemed like the easy option. I was just being lazy and didn't want to shuffle through makeup companies searching for a similar color. But, I think I might anyways. Just to have the option. In case I miss out on a restock.

Sure! As I said I used it under the eyes and upper cheek area yesterday. I do contour quite a bit so I used it in the "v" area there, but you could also just use it under the eyes to brighten! I found that I didn't even need to use under eye concealer after using it. So it went: Vibrancy Eye, Primer on face, CC Illuminate, then makeup for me. I was impressed, and the formula is DEFINITELY different than the previous MAC product that was in a similar tube (cannot remember the name). I may experiment with the other colors in the cream….IDK about the powders too because where I would use them would look too dry!

so, i was suppose to be on a no buy and i was doing pretty good.... until i got bored one day and decided to log in to specktra
-_- found out that perfect topping was coming out in this collection and ive been dying for it!!!! went to my local mac and swatched both perfect topping and stereo rose. surprisingly, i fell in love with SR. i had the older one and sold it because i remeber it was too dark for me to use it as anything but a blush. but this release of SR was not the same. so i ended up passing on PT (which seemed to not impress me at all), BUT i made another mistake and swatched the blushes and couldnt pass up on Petal Power. so unfortunately i broke my no buy but i am definitely one happy girl. and im proud of myself.... i didnt buy one lipstick! ( which is my weakness and dreaming dahlia and heavenly hybrid are definitely the type of colors that i always pick up.)
