So I thought I was going to escape this collection unscathed but I'm liking a lot more things than I thought. Sigh... I am eyeing both pigments, a few of the e/s and the brow pen.
Oh and Temptalia just did an interesting comparison on the new vs. old pigment vials, and man, it does kinda suck that there's so little product! Grr, it's kind of frustrating, because I know I will still buy them.
Also, I thought of something: maybe it's b/c so many people were splitting or selling them with other people, and MAC realized that they were losing out? If MAC sells a pigment and it's split 2 ways, you're only getting $10 per customer. BUT if you make it half the size, people are less likely to sell or split, hence you are getting the full $20 per customer. So yes, it was a ploy to make more $$ for MAC, but in a way it makes sense. It sucks for me, because I am one of those who buys 1 pigment and sells 1/2 of it to save myself a little moolah.
Either way, people are still going to pay the price, so from a business standpoint it's not a bad idea.

I hate Mac! Just when I thought I could buy maybe one or two things or maybe even nothing at all, I just had to get drool inducing swatches!
I hate Satins, but Empowered lipstick is calling me. I've had my eye on 5N from the beginning, Liquer and Spirit & Soul lipglass, also. I also want Banshee, Cross-Cultural and Showstopper shadows and All's Good BPB.

After seeing KarlaSugar's swatches on this collection I feel that I can safely skip most of it. The BPB seem to dark as well as the lip products.
I think I will just get samples of the pigments and maybe one or two eye shadows.
I agree with Shontay that this collection had such a cool name and endless posibilities but it seems like it has fallen a bit short IMO.

Especially because Blonde's Gold always was 4.3g and she wrote that she thinks the texture of Universal Mix and Blonde's Gold are similar. So she compared practially the same amount (4.3g vs. 4.5g) to show the decrease.
It helps though to see the new versus the old jar. I love the old chubby cute jar and I will miss it.

speaking of OCDs, and the nerd in me decided to do some math
from her side by side picture, the diameter of the new jar is 145 pixels wide, where as the old jar is 187 pixels. so the new jar would have to be 70% taller than the old jar to have the same volume.
so yah, i'm not convinced either. mac is using the "thinner but taller" illusion again. i went to a mac store last week and the manager told me they haven't seen the new jars yet, but their trainer told them it's still the same size, just different shapes. sigh, when will they stop lying to customers

Does anybody know how close Cross-Cultural is to Espresso? Or Showstopper to Night Maneuvers from Style Warriors? I think all of the eyeshadows in this collection look pretty nice!
I also want to see the brow products, I'm very excited about brows!
I'm hoping one of the colours is cool ashy blonde, that is kinda hard colour to find (although I do love Fling so I have that always available, but is fun to try new ones too!). I was looking forward to the brow marker, but if it has reddish undertones it might not work for me...blah - it would've been something totally new!

so I just did a live chat & the girl told me she thought everything should be available to order today, she told me to call cust service & they would know more than she does. So its obviously some kind of error that its all coming soon & not available yet. Hopefully they fix this soon cause I'd really rather only have one box come to the house from mac so hubby doesn't get cranky

I have changed my mind (again!). I still want the shadows and a BPB, but I will skip the lippies unless they completely blow me away in person. I don't do brown lips very often. I always reach for pink or red. I just feel, as a brown girl that brown lips are so safe and expected.

Ack! I'm trying to be good and not buy anything, and long comes this collection - now I want that brown piggie, and the BPB (in the "Personal Style) and several of the eye shadows - oh it's all so sad.
I think I'll just go through my stash and see if I can find anything that close to what is in this new collection. But - there's also the new Lilyland - with the new paint pots...oh so many new things, so little time and less money
