MAC and Gareth Pugh Discussion

I still love what we have seen of this. I hope we get swatches soon.
I love the couture collection (usually. Did not like MW from last year however) and try to budget all year for it. This year has been tough with the economy and price hikes but I skipped alot (Sephora F&F, most of the other fall/winter collections, etc) so I should be able to pick up a few pieces to love. Plus I don't feel a rush if I can't do it all in one haul. Couture pieces tend to be around for awhile. Mac online still had some Marcel Wanders pieces last time I checked.
That's funny, MW was the only couture collection I have liked.

You're certainly right about stuff hanging around forever, because MW stuff was available until recently on line here, too. (They seem to have done a bit of a cleanup, since there was TONNES of old stuff hanging out on the Canadian web site until a few weeks ago.) I'm thinking that I still want the two lipsticks. I'm tempted by the pigments, but at that price, I can't really justify it.

No worries, Mac Guy. I'm actually surprised we haven't seen something yet. Karen @ Makeup and Beauty Blog is usually quite early getting info out on Mac collections, but even she doesn't have anything yet.

Just read this on The Independent's site. Thought it might be of interest to some people :)

I think this collection looks STUNNING and I'm gutted that I won't be able to afford more than one or two things.

thanks for the link. the collection and the imagery looks stunning indeed, and i usually love the mac fashion collabs, but I don't think i'm going to be able to afford the prices of the couture collection!
I guess as others are saying, if it hangs around a while, or something is particularly awesome, maybe I'll change my mind....but usually mac comes out with great stuff so often, i'll probably just end up caught up with some other collection!

Sorry, I didn't manage to photograph and upload swatches. It has been too crazy this week :-(

Whenever you get around to it, you know we appreciate it and look forward to it! :) And your reviews too!!!

BTW, i'm always so late to the game......i have a MAC store and counter literally 3 minutes away from my house and i only went in yesterday to finally swatch the glitter and ice collection!

I traded for a Strada. It's more warm than the omega I usually use for contouring but I am going to give it a try.

If I can get a Strada, that will be it for me for this collection. We get a naturally "morbid" look here in New England in Winter, I don't need to spend a lot of money to get the look!

But thank you very much for the link!

At first I thought it would make me look dead. But she does have greyish powder or something on her face too. And I dont plan on wearing grey powder lol So it should be ok. I bet the lavender gloss will look great over it.

Can somebody tell me what is so special about Strada? Never even heard of it before this collection.

I quite like the look of the nail polish in the bottles, but won't buy any unless the swatches are good. I really don't think I will get anything else, the prices are crazy, and I'm not that overly keen on the packaging. Oh well, more money saved. :)

Strada is a great non-orangey contour shade for ultra pale people. It was a permanent regular blush for eons up until a year or two ago. I think it may still be available by calling MAC Pro? But I could be wrong as I haven't kept up with this thread.

Has anybody seen/felt the brush from this collection? The couture brushes are usually exquisite.
