MAC and Gareth Pugh Discussion

I'm curious. What brush did you use?

Just the 131

I was wearing Le Metier de Beaute foundation & Mac's Salsarose blush. I mainly focused the powder high on the cheekbone just slightly over my blush & below the blush to the jawline, nose, chin. It was so lovely

Elude has indeed the most lovely finish. I absolutely adore the soft focus!

I used Elude over (lightly) my makeup for the first time today & it made my skin look like a porcelain dolls face (in a good not a creepy kinda way). Loved it
You've been using it in other ways before now, I hope!!!!!

I've already pretty much worn out the embossing on mine - gonna have to back it up for sure at this point.

My embossing is also worn down completely. It's very finely milled, which I really appreciate in terms of texture and application. But, oh boy! This baby goes fast. I wish there were refill pans.

I'm thinking once the embossing is finished, it'll start kicking up a little less dust. It's already behaving better for me.

Anyhow I really wonder about whether we'll see Elude repromoted. It seems like after years and years of bronzers and "bare" skin, the fashion would eventually turn back to the china doll look. We already have Matchmaster 1.0....perhaps if that's selling well along with the high fashion angle, MAC will move forward with more support for this kind of product. I'd be happy with more Elude or an extra light Careblend or a new, super pale MSF for next Fall/Winter!

Liba - I'll try the 138. I really wish there were refills
I go back and forth between 131 and 138 - 138 sometimes need a little blending down, but it's faster than 131, which leaves me needing a little extra here and there. 131's better over bare skin. Also, have you tried a healthy dose of Joie de Vivre or Florida on bare skin with Elude over? That's smashing!

I'd be very happy to see products like this., A more reasonable priced version of Elude would be nice. since not everybody can or wants to pay that much for a powder. I really hope the trend will go in this direction.

You're definitely paying for the packaging with Elude, which was holding me up from backing it up. It's the highest quality for a compact, like a vintage one from 30+ years ago, so it's not a rip-off, but how many of 'em can one person need? Plus it's so heavy, I've actually had days where I didn't carry it with me, even though I was wearing Elude and might want a touch up, just because it was too much to drag around.

I'm still probably going to back it up, I bet, and then feel dumb when it gets a repromote. :p

I can't imagine that it will be repromoted any time soon.

I doubt we'll see anything of the kind until next Fall, but I don't think it's out of the question it'd be repromoted or that something close will be on offer.

Fortunately, I don't think I'll be reaching for it so much from April - September - it'll get a little breather then!

It's certainly a possibility to see a similar product next Fall - or even earlier.

I'm thinking of getting the metal X shadows from this coll. I see that it's been said that you have to use a thin layer but they seem to look better when they are more layered. So I dunno. Do you just let one layer dry before applying the next then set with a powder?

One layer is already super opaque. Actually, I would not use more than one layer.

Not sure why there would be a difference, but I'm thinking of picking up the GP Metal X's as well now... The Metal X Collection is NOT getting good reviews so far! (I think those are the ones we were initially hearing needed to be layered singer82.) So I might as well get these in the nice packaging then try the ones from the Metal X Collection. Seems like they are a HUGE skip! Still debating.
