MAC and Gareth Pugh Discussion

I'm actually wearing it in the pic I posted. I'm NC15 and as you can see Its very subtle on me. It is amazing when wearing a daring eye look.

I wish I could see a swatch of Strada on a lady with pale complexion. I can't really use christine's swatches for face products because they look a lot different on me. I agree the packaging is reason to buy this even though its perm at Pro.

Gareth Pugh is finally out on Australian Mac Website... Im going to risk it and stop off at the store today and see if its instore while im patiently waiting for my Elude to get here.

In love with my buffer so much and I have been using it every day... i have learnt the hard way not to dip it in pressed products and instead just buff with it.

Elude is $95 here and the buffer $113... WOAH!!! even the lipsticks are $54. i will never understand why our prices are so much higher

And the most amazing part.... I went down there yesterday to have a look at Elude and the other lip products that I dont have from this collection

90% sold of the whole collection....

Mac for Australia has always been nearly double the price of USA which is why I have gone overseas with my orders... but still.. HOLY CRAP CANT BELIEVE ITS ALL GONE!

That is INSANE!!!

I would not have thought Oz was so into couture. See how all those dang Crocodile Dundee movies have you Aussies stereotyped? And the stupid Outback steak house commercials are not really helping in that department either.

I think the stunning compact - heavy luxurious metal - certainly helped to sell this collection better than the ones released in previous years. IMO, the 2011 couture collection is worth the money and I had no doubt that it would sell so well.

After wearing Restrict l/s again today and falling in love with it all over again, I came to the conclusion that having two of them was not enough. It is just such a unique nude that I had to track down another one. The Mac website is sold out of it, so after calling 30+ stores across the US, I finally found one store that had one Restrict left in stock

. All of the other stores that I called were sold out of it so I am so glad that I did not give up calling! My motto now is if one Mac store is sold out of a limited edition item, try calling the rest of the Mac stores across the globe no matter if it takes 30 calls.

No Australia arent a bunch of crocodile hunting outback freaks.... We appreciate great products as much as the next person and have the relaxed life to go with it. By far one of the quickest selling I have seen this year so definitely shows how amazing the products are

I was browsing the UK MAC website yesterday, curious to know which products were sold out from the recent collections, and was surprised to find the Gareth Pugh Metal X both in stock! Obscura has since sold out again, but Ardent is available if anyone was hoping to get it. I'd love it, but I'm not paying that much for it.
I got only Vacant from this collection, and only because someone gave it to me for Christmas!
Now I see that it's sold out.
So, should I be, maybe, wearing it?
It looked like more of a spring color, so I'd been ignoring it.

I think Vacant would look great over a nude. I think it can easily be worn in the Winter due to the grey hues in it. How are you liking Vacant, by the way? I'm thinking about calling around for it to see if any stores still have it in stock!

To Elude or not to Elude... that is the question. I'm thinking about getting it to use over my foundation as a setting powder/lighten up the color of my foundation a bit as it is slightly to dark for my NW15 skintone at the moment. Would it be good for that? Luckily Elude is still widely available at a multitude of stores as well as online. It seems like the lippies and lipglasses were the first to go! Regarding Restrict, I would love it if they re-release it, even in regular packaging as well! Then I would buy 5 more BU! :D

I can't speak directly to the "Elude or not to Elude" question, but I can tell you that the MAC Face & Body foundation in White is brilliant for customizing color! I always use a drop (or more depending on season) to calm down the color of most MAC foundations (as they are always too yellow or too peachy for me). I can't live without it!

But I am also still debating Elude myself.....let me know if you cave!
