Believe it or not, I have never tried a GPS or a Pearlglide e/l. From the descriptions of these colors though, that will definately change! I am put off by the "grease" part of the paintstick. Is that because they have black bases? Or do they give the wet eyeshadow look? Either way, I am likely to pass because I am afraid of black, other than eyeliner and mascara. On my list though, are four of the pearlglides:

Almost Noir - Dirty plum (Limited Edition)
Designer Purple - Iridescent violet (Limited Edition)
Petrol Blue - Deep navy (Limited Edition)
Undercurrent - Blue teal (Limited Edition)

Their not greasy or wet looking their actually kind of matte, I have oily eyelids (matches my face!) and this base surpasses my UDPP which is amazing! I imagine though these will probably have a black/dark base to them with color.

Sorry if I missed anything, but are these newly reformulated pearlglides (the tampon liners!)? Maybe I'm just getting thrown off by the word "intense" in their name...

As for the lip markers, I am praying that they have a thicker, but still tapered nib, not thin and flimsy one like the penultimate/brow pen. If so, I am picking up a few of these.

Hi guys, I've never posted in the cosmetic discussion, but I just got to ask. Can somebody explain to me what's the difference between using GPS as a base and using regular pencil eyeliners?

I often use eyeliners as base for my eyeshadow, and they worked wonderfully. I use pearlglides often as a base or L'oreal HIP Chrome eyeliner in Green Flash for a green base, and they never creased.

So I was just wondering if the difference is only in the color selection?

TIA!

i find them more opaque and also the fact they don't smudge much (mine did crease though when i was hot and very sweaty!) i like the fact they go on creamy and don't tug my lids like a liner pencil would.

i wore black gps new years and the place was so sweaty and hot, and it creased like a mofo.. i was so sad, but that's the only time its creased for me, and that was extreme conditions! i use eyeliners too, but i find the gps like lmd84 said seem to be creamy and be able to blended and then almost like they set or stop being so blendable after a minute or so.
