Yeah, thats it!!!

NO! Its GORGEOUS!

I just went to MAC & read the color description of Industrial - Periwinkle Grey - thats why it had THE most gorgeous subtle violet cast on the WOC MA that I saw. Maybe she thought I was a weirdo

but I couldn't quit looking at her eyes. In case you missed my earlier post - she had a thin line of it just above her black eyeliner on the top lashes!

Yep, and I really like it! I got both Below Ground and Dirty. Below Ground leans more to the bronzey-brown side, whereas Dirty is a darkened taupey grey-brown.

I got my Art Supplies stuff on Friday, it didn't seem to be selling that well at the counter I visited (but the display was put in a silly place) so luckily I got all I wanted, which was:

Almost Noir - I got two of these, I nearly wet myself when I swatched this and decided in a nanosecond to ditch my no backups rule
tong.gif
It's such a beautiful pinky plum colour (a slightly darker more shimmery version of Miss Fortune) and I have been searching for a great plum eyeliner forever!

Black Line - As above, so I got two!! This is very pigmented and actually quite different to Black Karat kohl, it's black fused with deep dark green with gold glitter whereas Black Karat is a soft black with a golden-bronzy sheen. Love both!

Designer Purple - Very nice indeedy but I got a lotta purple stuff so no backups. This is a lot like Violet pigment in pencil form. I still like Rave too! DP is fun but Rave is more sultry.

Undercurrent - Just nice as far as I'm concerned, I thought this would be my favourite but I don't know, it doesn't look great on me. It's more blue than green on me so I don't agree with the Minted kohl comparison...Minted is lighter and a clear cut green colour. I find Undercurrent overly glittery compared to the other pencils or it may be that the contrast between the bluey base and the gold glitters is too much for me, I look slightly teeny with it

I thought Industrial was boring when I swatched it. Since I have golden olive skin, I'm really weary of light bluey grey colours which look weirdly frosty on me...but all this talk on here is making me wonder if I missed something...I'll check it out again

Petrol Blue was nice but it is too similar to Fly-By-Blu and Prestige Fierce Blue IMO.

I didn't get any GPS, the ones I was interested in didn't have any testers

I swatched Charred Mauve (like Violet Underground kohl but darker), Zinc Zone (a lot like Phone Number kohl) and Dirty (the S&D comparison is justified) and didn't find any of these undupable or unique in colour, except that the GPS formula is amazing, very glidey and budgeproof after a few minutes.

Meh to the lipstain markers, not my thing at all

Anyhow, I love pearlglides so bad, I think for me they are the best MAC eye product ever!

Oh and how about a question before I depart; how does Below Ground GPS compare to Powersurge kohl? I imagine they are similar...

Below Ground is darker and more brown. Powersurge is more gold.

Best get a few Shontay!!!

It's a beautiful color! Sky blue to Periwinkle to Violet! Amazing duochrome pencil!

It's a nice golden color that goes on nicely on the lid by itself or can be paired with Mulch/Satin Taupe for a neutral eye

With the GPS, I use it alone. With the pearlglides, I use UDPP.

I'm loving Undercurrent too much - 3 days in a row! Paired with Springtime Skipper, Cosmic & Quick Frost using Greengrease as a liner.

About the KP vs. GPS... I personally like the GPS better because of a) the smudgeability before it sets and b) the lack of smudging after it sets. Point (b) is important since my Asian eyes create a lot of racooning issues! And with point (a), I find that smudging out KP's makes it disappear a bit whereas with GPS's te product moves rather than transfers. Just my experience but I thought I'd share in case it's useful. Not trying to enable!

Am I the only weirdo who has always had this strange, intense urge to use a marker on her face? Possibly...I have a cover girl lipstain that I've been using a lot lately, so now I have to get MAC's version, cause I'm sure they did it better than CG. Heading to the mall Tuesday to spend money I shouldn't spend.

I have to skip the GPSs - if I had extra money I'd get Dirty and Zinc Zone. Saving up for a wedding and a honeymoon sucks!

I got two of the stains - A classic and Runway ripened, and although both colours are gorgeous, their staying power doesn't convince me. I applied them on dry lips, but after four hours (including eating risotto and kissing the bf goodbye) the colour is gone and it looks like I'm waering only liner.

I tried the GPS today for the first time and wow, you've to work quickly with those! They dry super fast and blending is really impossible once they're dry. I used Dirty with Hypnotizing e/s and some random white highlighter - very pretty!

I got Undercurrent and Industrial so far, and Dirty is coming in the mail. I agree with all of the Industrial raves; it really is the hidden gem of the pearlglides! It pulls slightly lavender on me as well, and I am only about NC15.

I really want to go back for Petrol Blue, and I am fairly certain I want Designer Purple as well. Sojourner, I thought the same thing about Violet pigment!

Should I back up Undercurrent? I think that will get the most use. I don't usually finish anything, though...

Also, I have brown eyes and brown hair (about NC15 like I said) can anyone suggest a lip-stain marker? Thank you!

Maybe Tomorrow's Coral?

Or a classic? That's really a versatile colour, I think - not a *red* red, if you know what I mean!

I'm NW20/25 so slightly darker than you but A Classic is very pretty, and not too intense. Runway Ripened is also a nice color. Any of them can be built up for desired intensity, but I like the fact that they are a stain and are good foundations for things like pretty glosses.......

I'm also going to pick up Tomorrow's Coral.

I also got 3 of the lip markers - Stylesetter, Runway Ripened and A Classic - I wore Stylesetter today with a Dior gloss over it called 'Meringue' and it was very pretty. I have dry lips, and have to apply lipstick quite often, so having to touch these up doesn't bother me that much. I don't find them to be over-drying, but chemistry plays a part....

I have to say that I was really turned off by the MUAs at Nordie's in San Jose - they had the display out, and apparently had just put it out - when I asked if I could see them (they were standing in front of it) one of them asked the other one if they were allowed to show them - hello? Why do you have it out then? They were somewhat uppity about the whole thing. One of them was trying to convince me that since there was nothing to the lip markers there's no way they could be drying - it still didn't convince me. I waited until I got home and tried them myself before I bought them.

its sad!!! specially when u have spent so much money..

Unfortunately the VF store and Nordies are notorious for being STUCK UP....it's very known of their reputation here in the bay area....the 2 times i've gone there they've been especially nice to me...but maybe bc they think i will beat them up LOL anywho, i'm sorry you had a bad experience and if you were closer to SF, i would've HIGHLY suggested going to Pro....or at least one of the other freestanding stores in the area. I refuse to give VF my money...especially when they are snotty and rude and FAKE!!!!

anywho, i love undercurrent so much it's time i sharpen it! luckily i have 2 backups....
