I went into my local MAC store yesterday to pick up a BU of Next to Skin blush, because i've been wearing almost every day since the Artificially Wild collection released. I have been on a blush no-buy this year since Proenza Schouler. I have more than i'll ever wear in this lifetime and i've NEVER backed up a blush (I already have Pink Cult and Pink Tea, which is why i didn't back up Pink Cult). But NtS works so well on me!

I had Artificial Earth e/s on my lid and just above the crease; Stony in the crease, in the <, and winged out; and the crease accentuated with Vile Violet (from the VV coll) deep in the crease. Then i put a dab of Pure Flash Electric Cool in the center of my lid to make me look awake, and lined with Evil Twin Fluidline Pencil (from Novel Romance). And finally, mascara (another of the free ones i keep getting from sephora - this time it's Lancome Definicils)

I put Breaking Ground CCB in the edge of my cheek bones, NtS on and under my cheekbones, and a hint of Animal Instincts on my cheek - I don't like strong blush, so i powder my face first before putting on any powder blush.

Finally I wore VGR2 lipstick and gloss. I'm not a gloss girl, but i love this combo. It works well because on me it leans cool. The color is so nicely complex, a little brown, a little plum, a little bronze, a little silver. I'm now thinking of backing the pair up and i rarely BU anything. Shitake is just a little warmer, and i like it too, but i was having fun with makeup yesterday

I got Shitaki as well and I've never found a more perfect brown toned nude.

I'm must be crazy but I didn't give anything from this collection a try.the name shitaki gets me every time. Although it actually looks nice on you.

So I was going to skip this collection but seeing swatches and applications of Next to Skin -- which I was ultimately concerned about and wasn't going to get -- has me taking a second look. Methinks I'll be ordering it at the weekend.
