Mac Cleansing Tips being discontinued?

I've called a number of stores and all are out. Some say they have been d/c'd, but they're not on the 2011 discontinued list. Does anyone know?

Yup, they are d/c, though I hope they come back in an improved version.

There is a drugstore version of this product but I have not tried it myself...

I have tried the Almay ones -- they are just OK.

You have to break off one end of the tip so the solution inside can travel down to the other end. This means each tip only has one usable end (unlike MAC's, which has two ends to use).
