ok that wisteria trio is b-e-a-utiful. I keep trying to ignore it and skip this collection, but I think I might not make it out of the store without that hotness.

I think with this collection my love of makeup is slowly coming back because I was/am in a makep funk where I don't like wearing any makeup AT ALL. So sad.

“Hello there Possums”, as Dame Edna would say! Hoping all is well and Love is Fair!

Forgive me as I detour off topic and then swerve back onto the road again en route to the Dame.

I’ve missed you Divas so much! I’ve been sitting here the past few days trying to figure out why I’ve been such a stranger – and I can’t blame it on alien abduction this time - they’ve stayed clear away for months.
Although, I have been lurking with my nose pressed up against the glass! So many things have kept me preoccupied - it’s been an unusually busy half-year end for TamEva. Ugh! Let me up I’ve had enough!

…But…and I will confess here and now, my strangest distraction when I’ve been online these days has been MySpace!!! And all of the lovely Freaks therein. Yes I’ve crossed over to the “Dark Side”!
I’ve been completely obsessed with it – I mean… it’s crazy! I’m addicted! Where the hell have I been that I never realized the wonders of MySpace???

I only started dabbling with it when I was planning my Gypsy HiJinks event and wanted everyone in the known world to attend. I thought that having a MySpace page to promote it was the way to go.
And it is…if you know what you’re doing.
I’ll use MySpace now more than I do regular email because it’s so visually stimulating and such a better way to connect because of that fact. Let’s put it this way the world has gotten so much smaller since.

Unfortunately, the problem with MySpace, for a true Artist, is learning all the code that is required to make MySpace truly rewarding.

As far as my collecting these days – It’s become fairly out of hand, but a lot of fun. My beloved Mac collection has expanded and has become so well rounded. I’ve been able to do some catch up with perm line items and discontinued items I’ve been wanting since the CoC Collection.

My latest find was at the Las Vegas CCO where I scored two pots of Uppity Fluidline and some great brushes #224, #242, #252, and #213 among other things – they had some cool stuff!
I guess I’ve gone underground with my collecting since I’m now getting strange looks from friends. My traincases are now in obvious locations, strangely, close by in case of fire – if you know what I mean?

You have to understand that most of the Queens I know don’t wear MAC - they wear that Ben Nye or Kyolan…stuff. It works for them…I guess.

I’ve never bothered to post my hauls since I figure it’s the same stuff everybody else has these days. I apologize, though, for feeling like I don’t have much to contribute to the forum lately.

Lately, I’ve been completely obsessed with brushes - even ones I don’t need or, probably, will never use.

Funny, stupid story – I was doing some shows in Las Vegas the other weekend and we were driving there in an SUV Jeep. My friend announces to me, days prior, of the sad reality that I had to consolidate my Train Cases down to one, for lack of room in the vehicle since it was three of us Girls traveling.

Now I know, many, of you can imagine what it must’ve been like to tell some of your babies that they can’t go to LAS VEGAS! That some Piggies would have to stay home! That some colors weren’t going to be invited to the party! It was a heart break!

Needless to say, all consolidation efforts were successful in whittling two train cases down to one with all my Colors, a little mini Blush Box, and then My Martha Stewart storage organizer for my Tools and Brushes. You all would be so proud!
You’d be surprised as to how much makeup you can cram into those “Goddess” Caboodle Traincases…

…You had to carry it from the bottom with both arms instead of from the handles - but I did it.

Back on thread topic:

If anyone is interested in an opinion from a Queen about a Queen and her makeup collection…I’ll just say I think it could’ve been better…it could’ve been glorious! But there’s something about it that’s holding it back from being truly spiffy. Can’t put my finger on it though.

Something ‘bout the colors.
Something about me thinking I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing any of it.
Something ‘bout the signature glasses being Glittery Red just isn’t right. They should’ve been black ‘n’ purple.

What they should have done was a, fabulously, expensive collectors compact with the classic rhinestones on the signature glasses like they were meant to be. I wanted this stuff to look like the classic makeup packaging from the 1950’s where Dame Edna’s world comes to life.

Think Liz Taylor’s “White Diamonds” Perfume bottle and you get the idea. You know - that whole vintage vibe.

I'm getting the same fizzled feeling I got from the Heatherette Collection. Remember, though, I haven't seen it in person yet. I'm sure it'll be fun...just not "Classic"!

I’m holding out hope that the Kanga-Rouge lippie is all I dream it will be though.

I’m a huge fan of Dame Edna and have been since I was a young kid and when I didn’t even know what drag was for many years. I have an autobiography and biography of John Barry Humphries – both fascinating. My only bugaboo is that …John Barry is straight! Oh Well who says that a straight man can’t portray a Fabulous Diva…er…Dame?

I’m actually going to see Dame Edna perform this Saturday in San Francisco at the Post St. Theatre. It’s going to be her last S.F. engagement. The end of an era!

I hope I may run into some of you there if anyone from the Bay Area is planning on going! I’ll be the tall fake Blonde dripping in blue velvet – with her best vintage Yvonne De Carlo face on!

Strange Dame Edna Factoid:

Did you know that Barry Humphries who portrays Dame Edna also appeared in the movie Shock Treatment - a 1981 comedy-musical and a follow up (sequel) to the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show as Bert Schnick (?)

Much Love and Happy Holidays to you all,

I have a question and I apologize if it has already been asked (but I can't find it). What is the difference between the highlighting powder and a beauty powder? I like the idea of the shimmer these HPs seem to have. Does it go all the way through?
