I hope I don't give someone the vapors by asking this, but does any one have any recommendations for lip glosses to tone down Flamingo? I bought two online when it was re-released as part of the AAO collection because it looked gorgeous on everyone with my skintone (I'm between an NW20 and NW25, but closer to the 20 side of that spectrum), but I think it looks borderline garish on me, even though the name is a very accurate color description. (I tend to stick with MLBB/pinky neutral shades of lipstick) TIA, and I hope I didn't offend those of you who love your bold lips. :)

I've been lurking here for years, but I finally bit the bullet and joined, even though I'll probably never have anything of value to add to the forum. I just wanted to thank all of you for your sleuthing and swatching!
Welcome!

Don't put yourself down!! I thought that too, when I joined, but the ladies here are so much fun -- just join the discussion -- we promise not to bite :)

Thank you very much! I've lurked here long enough to see how nice and encouraging everyone is. I know a lot of people are regulars here, so it's like everyone already knows each other, but the support you all have for each other is amazing (I need that gif from Mean Girls of Lindsay Lohan breaking up the Homecoming crown to share with everyone. lol) and no one talks down to anyone else, so I finally joined this forum. The MAC SAs in my town are really hit or miss, and sometimes I feel like I'm bothering them when I ask them a lot of questions (although I do try to go first thing in the morning so it's not as crowded), so I thought I'd try my luck here first so I can have all my ducks in a row.

I'm not really a lip gloss fan aside from NYX Butter Glosses, so I can't really recommend any for you. I just wanted to say that you will absolutely not offend anyone on here if you think Flamingo is a little too much for your tastes. I feel like lipstick is very personal and it takes a lot of courage to walk out the door in something you're not comfortable wearing. Also, I haven't seen a single person on here not have something valuable to say that helps other members out.

lol I didn't mean for that to come across defeatist, but I'm not very adventurous when it comes to makeup, and I love seeing all the gorgeous looks everyone comes up with. One of my "if I ever win the lottery" dreams is to go to cosmetology school so I can learn how to step out of my house with gorgeous skin, flawless makeup, and perfect hair. Although I live in Florida, so perfect hair is never going to be an option, but I'll gladly settle for the other 2. :) Thanks for the tip - I'm embarrassed to say that it never occurred to me to try a nude liner (or even layer it with a nude liner).
I hope you get to live out that drream, but if not, you can learn beautiful makeup application without it too!

No problem :) Hopefully it turns out better now!

Ladies I need your thoughts. Should I get Lady Danger or Dangerous lipstick? I heard they look similar. I'm NW13-15 if that helps.

I don't have Dangerous but Lady Danger is one of my most used lipstick...I adore it!

I find retro matte horribly drying although I own 3 of those which I love.

When one of the girls at the counter swatched Dangerous on my hand, the texture felt awful. I don't know if it was a dud or what, but I immediately said no. I actually love Retro Mattes, but that one just felt incredibly dry and crumbly. Lady Danger is fantastic, though!

Looks like I have to B2M for Lady Danger now... you ladies are on a roll helping me figure out how to use my B2M's! I have a lot to "cash in!" Thinking I'm going to take my little sis with me and let her pick something too! Lord knows I don't "need" another lippie! LOL
