mac dare you help

So I got the l/s dare you as I thought it would be a nice autumn/winter colour, the only problem is I'm unsure what to do with the rest of my face because I'm a bit worried that it could end up very 90's looking. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep it fresh and modern looking?

I love this color but since it has a tinge of chocolate undertones, it looks great paired with a golden gloss on top to warm it up. I've paired it with nice buzz plushglass which adds nice dimension (use a lip brush so the color doesn't transfer).

Oh and wearing a neutral blush, like blushbaby will keep things fresh.
