I agree. I think it's because they are so frosted/shimmery/glittery. It's hard to work with them alone.

3rd this.....Damn near impossible.

But that being said, I love, love, love MES's.

I will have to see these in person....being that people are on the fence about them...I won't order any without knowing the texture and whether or not I'll use them

But hot contrast is just so striking...

If you can handle shimmer, a bit of glitter (depends on the MES), and the fall-out, or this sounds like some of the eyeshadows you use already, I'd say pick one up.

I use Ether and Mercurial from my MES most and there isn't any fall-out.

Yeah, I'd say it just depends on which MES it is. I have the Antiquitease MES, so there's a bit of fallout. Engaging not as much as Mi'lady and Earthly Riches though.

I have Ether from Flashtronic and Silversmith from Antiquitease and both have very little fallout. I had a few others, but the fallout was worse with those.

That's the thing though, for most of/a lot of MES the colors don't pop unless you use a base. Otherwise you get a sheer wash of color. Especially with the Flashtronic MES but less so with Antiquitease, and also the older MES's. I like the Shadesticks because they reduce fallout, for me anyway.

That as well as using them wet. I was very meh about the Antiquitease MES until a MA showed me what they look like wet. I think she used Fix+ and the colors really popped.

This is going to be the collection of the summer for me, I love MES and how they look, they are shimmery without being too over the top IMO. I do lke to mix them with regular shadows though just to take some shimmery-ness away, but I love love love the texture. Can't wait!

That's one of the reasons why I'm hesitant about these. I really want them, but I hated the sheerness of the Holiday 07 ones. It was such a pain in my ass, and I'm still not convinced (IMO lol) that they are worth the effort.

Of course, we all know that will change as July and erine's updates come about. lol

You may need to use a base depending on the MES. I found the holiday ones were decent, Earthly Riches was one of the better ones IMO. But yeah, these are things you definitely need to swatch to see if you like them or not.

I guess it really depends on the MES itself, if one or a few of them have good color payoff, it's definitely doable. I can deal with a little fallout as long as the color is gorgeous!

that Sea and Sky MES looks a bit like Silversmith, don't you think?
I so want to buy these MESs, but I want to buy that brush sets too.. I don't have that many brushes so I think this is a good deal..

I think it does resemble Silversmith, which I have, but the sad thing is I will probably buy this one anyway cause I am a sucker for blues, and MES!

I really like the MES, I don't have more fallout with those than I do with pigments.
From this collection, I must say I am liking the look of Hot Contrast (the one with red/silver/black).

Even though I have loaded up on blues now I think I still want Sea and Sky. That dark half is so beautiful!
