I didn't compare them directly, but it is similar IMO to Silver Fog pigment, applied wet. Also, Rondelle e/s, but PO is a brighter, more opaque silver.

Silver Fog is a perm Pro color, I believe... So you don't have to wait LOL.

I wanted to get Odd Couple until someone posted a FOTD with Fresh Green Mix

. I can only afford one right now and I know that is one of the ones that is going to go quick. So now I gotta get that one LOL.

That's true but i dont live near a PRO store nor can i shop online or have anything delivered home because i live with my parents. So it's either i get polar opposites or i wait for silver fog to be repromoted so i can get it in person.

What is a 'must-have' item for a NW20 female who prefers neutrals? Specifically, pinky-peachy types of neutrals with no blueish tones. Soba is my HG of blending browns.

I do better (meaning I make less mistakes) when I go to the store kind of knowing what I want. I would never have looked at Sugar Trance (my favourite) if someone here (CantAffordMAC, maybe?) had not enlightened me to it.

Tell me what I need... Thank you!!

I really enjoy the following:

Sea and Sky-even prettier on than in the pan, if it's possible
Fresh Green Mix-Gorgeous duo that can totally be used on its own or blend wonderfully with almost all the colors from the Cool Heat Collection.
Polar Opposites-Great for a night out. Really fun duo. Could also be used for liner.
Odd Couple-The jury is still out on this. I'm unsure if I love it or just think it is ok.
Sonic Vibe-Best purchase I have made in awhile
Fast Thrill-Love it, but not a necessity. I have a gazillion lipsticks, this is really not all that special, but pretty....
Culture Clash-So pretty. I love it. It looks like Cotton Candy in a tube!

AHHH. I want those exact three lipglasses! I know I will get Major Minor because I LOVE gold! I abuse my Nymphette lipglass like no other! And Sonic Vibe... looks SO pretty! And Culture Clash... sounds so lovely!

I would recommend you Play on Plums - Peachy gold with pink and bronze veining / Bronzed burgundy mono

So I have come to some different conclusions after playing around and putting on all my makeup yesterday. Swatching them is a whole different ball game from actually using them.

For instance, yesterday I HATED Mellow Mood and Major Minor. Now, I love them! Mellow Mood literally looked like a smudge of poo on my hand yesterday. After using it on my lips, I am so in love. The color is a very sheer wash of light rose, almost just an amplified version of my natural lip color. Major Minor, although still swatching quite gold on my hand, looks fabulous over Mellow Mood.

Polar Opposites-I hate this shadow. It is one of the worst I've ever purchased. The silver side didn't show up at all and took so much effort to keep on my brush (tried 239 and 219). The melange side looked like a bad mix of a bunch of colors when I put it in my crease. It looked like I had a blending mishap. The fallout is terrible and for some reason, this shadow has a very rough, chalky texture. Maybe it is just mine?

Odd Couple-Gorgeous. I thought I was on the fence with this, but it is really very nice. In the pot and when I swatch it it looks like it would be waaayyy too dark for daytime. But, when I actually did an entire eye, it was lovely. It is a light wash of color on my eye and totally buildable. I am wearing it today with Naked Lunch as a highligher, Blooz liner, Gentle Blush, Mellow Mood and Major Minor-great colors.

HTH!

Well I just got back from MAC and let me say that the mineral eyeshadows are just gorgeous in person. I had to take a moment.

I sort of went against my original game plan and only got two: Sea & Sky and Odd Couple. But I also got the 217 brush, the 219 brush and the medium/natural skinfinish. So exciting!! I'll post a review of the e/s when I try them out.

The MA at my store was raving over the eyeshadows. She loves how you can make them as light or dark as you want ("they are very buildable").

Yeah!

I ordered the mineralized eyeshadow duos in Hot Contrast and Polar Opposites and the lipglass in CultureClash. I am thinking about ordering a lipstick. If anyone here has tried the lipstick and can describe the colors (because I know they look different in person) that would be so helpful. *hugs*

Have you tried using a wet brush/sponge applicator? I always do this and it goes on so nice with no fall-out and stays on for a long time. When I swatched PO at the store, I thought the quality was good and wanted to get it. On the tester the swirly side came out almost black but when I was picking out the box, I could not find one dark enough on the swirly side. Both sides on all of them seemed very light so I didn't get it.

I haven't tried it wet, but I will. I don't think it will make much of a difference. Originally Polar Opposites was one of my faves as well. I had the same problem, when I swatched it in the store, the swirled side was almost black. But the actual one I got is barely visible. There are hardly any dark veins. I am really disappointed...

The only one I've actually tried on is Fast Thrill, which has quickly become one of my favourite lipsticks. It reminds me a little of Rambling Rose, but a pinker version of it and it's not gritty like RR is. It's basically a frosty pink with a hint of coral and shows up nicely over my fairly pigmented lips. I also have Mellow Mood but haven't worn it. It's a very basic neutral plummy shade. If you already have other lustres in that colour range, I'd skip it. Not very exciting.

I would really love to see a FOTD with this done! Sounds super pretty!

I got Sea & Sky, I really like it! But I don't know if I will use it all that much, all my MES sit collecting dust.

I will have to play with it b4 I decide.

I tried on Cultureclash l/g as I was walking out. I was meh about it at the store, but when I got into my car it was completely different. I don't think I have anything like it, it really is like a cotton candy color!

Oooh...I totally plan on it! We are getting married in Dec! He is such an amazing guy, especially cause he buys me MAC!

He is the funniest guy in the world, he actually spent more time in the PRO store talking with the MA than I did - mostly about the body paint and airbrushing products. I think makeup and body art just mesmerizes him because he comes from a home where his mom and sister never wore makeup and hated art...

Back from hauling, and along with my 3 blushes from Sonic Chic, I got Sea and Sky and Fresh Green Mix like I planned. I can't wait to play with them tomorrow! I love them!
