MAC Extra Dimension discussion

I just want to point out - these are not Mineralize Skin Finishes. They're Extra Dimension Skin Finishes. They're a different formula than MSFs.

Although I haven't seen them in person yet, I'm going to assume they're much closer in texture to the Estee Lauder gel to powder highlighters they've been coming out with here or there, or some other gel to powder face products from other lines. If anything, they're most likely going to apply with less powderiness than MSFs, which in turn will offer some different application options and will probably be really good for not accentuating the pores.

I've really enjoyed having a nouveau-matte finish face this winter, between Matchmaster and Elude, but now that the spring sunshine is starting to peep through here and there, I'm ready to segue back into more sparkly and wet-look finishes again. I hauled out Crystal Pink again after months of sitting tucked away with my spring/summer makeup and it looked fabulous with an eye look with the Naturally MES. I'm not quite ready to break out the bronzer, but I'm sure I will be by the time this collection is out - I'll be surprised if all 3 EDSFs don't come home with me! Can't wait- they're going to be fabulous!!

I agree with you completely.
I have no idea what i want from this, I really use more the lighter es, but i want to see some reviews before, if they crease, how they really look, i don`t trust their promotional photos. Yeah i wont` buy them in the day of the release so if they sell out in a week, that will be too bad but they become too expensive to buy it blindly

the thing that attracts me the most is blue orbit!! After all the Mac collections that are coming here right now I'll be really broke in April and I'll probably have enough money only for three/four objects.. so two extra dimension and two blushes.. nothing more!

Ive been using MSFs as highlighters since Semi precious.... and.... they look like new. Take note that I have 8 highlighters and I rotate them :p

I think it is justified to have multiple highlighters. I certainly use different highlighters with different blushes. It makes a big difference, especially as certain highlighters will clash with certain blushes (or in the best case, complement each other).

The EDSFs are going to be hard to resist in this collection. As for the eyeshadows, I have no idea which ones will be going home with me. So far I have Sweet Heat on my list and deciding on which of the other 5 will be coming home.

Piarpreet did u try ccb as highlighters? they are so good and more satisfying than several hyped ones. love them, start with hush. I love them in winter more than msfs because i don`t want shimmery cheeks in the cold weather and hard winter light and these let u control better the amount of shine, plus they don`t have glitter to fly away all over the face

And you can layer ccb with msf. I love to layer lightscapade over Luna

Which is why I feel I must try them all, unless any are obviously going to be too dark and give me the look that I have dirt smeared on my face!
I want the wet look without the obvious pores and fish scale effect!

You can definitely blend these out to match your complexion.

If this collection is being launched in the last week of March, I guess I can go a little crazy since my birthday is on the 31st.

I swatched the Estee Lauder gel highlighter thing on my hand in Boots today, to see how it applied. I only needed the tiniest bit. The colour blended nicely, but it looked so sparkly under the shop lights, and I don't need that at my age. Does anyone know if the EDSFs are as sparkly/shimmery as that?

Oh man...these shadows look amazing. Definitely looking at Warm Thunder, Grand Galaxy, Lunar, Sweet Heat, Modern Pewter...I need to whittle my list down. Good thing I'm not interested in the skinfinishes anymore.

I'm really tempted to buy Estee Lauder's Shimmering Sands powder gelee highlighter/bronzer thing, but do you think the EDSFs are going to be basically the same?
