PBI

That is very true.

I love the MSFs! Not what I expected at all, I think they are actually quite wearable for a range of skintones. The e/s I will pass up on, they don't really impress me. Might work as blushes though...

Which is what I am getting a couple of them for.

Plus I use MSF all of the time for eyeshadow- esp used wet they are gorgeous.

If these are the same, I might enjoy them too.....jury is still out on this one.

That collection isn't that impressive IMO !

Most of the colors have poor color payoff and I mean REALLY poor color payoff ... a little bit of color and lots of glitter ! yuck !

Lovestone is the mineralize version of cranberry so if you already have it you don't need lovestone even if it's one of the prettiest color of the collection !

Quarry, despite being very pretty in the pot, is some king of ugly once swatched on the hand ! It's really a "blah" color !
If you're looking for a great grey/blue with losta shimmer try UD Strip and you won't be disappointed !

The only color that was really pigmented and unique is Ether ( which I bought ) because it's one of a kind "smoky teal" color that is going to look super hot paired with plumage and steamy IMO !

Gold spill MSF looks a bit like Shimpagne so if you have it .. don't need gold spill !

Global glow is really pretty but would have been maybe a bit too dark for my skintone and i'm sure I can get the same effect with some bronzer and shimpagne on top!

Northern light ( which I bought ) is a really pretty pink/peach MSF ! It's very shimmery but doesn't have chunky glitters which is good if you don't wanna look like a disco ball ! It's a really pretty MSF but not that extraordinary ... I bought it 'cause I'm digging pink and peach for my NW15 ( redhaired ! ) skin !

Well ... all the 3 MSF are pretty and deserve some attention from every MSF lovers but the mineralize eyeshadows, except few shades ( like lovestone, ether or by jupiter ) don't.

Hope this help !

So, you think that the only ones worth even looking at are Lovestone, Jupiter and Ether?

Do you think that the quality of these shadows are worse than the original Mineralized shadows that came out (like Whim)

Wow. That sure takes a load off then. Perhaps the three MSF, three shadows, and 6 of the pigments would be all I would want then (talking about Rushmetal too)

One more question- have you seen Gold Deposit? I wondered if Gold Spill compares with that.....

Re: Flashtronic

yes I think these are the only ones that are worth looking at !

I know lots of people are gonna be fooled by how pretty the shadows look in their pot but If you love very sheer, glittery colors this may be the right collection for you.

Personnaly, I love shimery, brights and very pigmented colors so if you're taht kind of Mac addict too ... you'll definitely pass on most of that collection !

Hum the quality of the shadows isn't actually very good IMO. The mineralized shadow that came out with Untamed were much better !

No I can't tell you about gold deposit because I've never seen it in person but I assume they are quite close as Gold spill is basically gold with a sligtly peach undertone ...

Did you happen to try using the different colors in the shadows individually? Someone else posted a pic like that earlier and it looked quite intriguing. Also curious if you used a base or if not, if you think that would make a difference.

Thanks for posting this, btw!

Yay, thanks for confirming the 3 definates on my list:
Northern Light MSF, Ether and Lovestone Eyeshadows.

I still may pick up the other MSFs but I have to see them in person. I am glad I won't be needing more than 2 eyeshadows so I can spend more on the pigments with Rushmetal that I want.

I agree...it looks as if she used no base, plus just because you can't see it well in a photo does not mean it's not visible in person. I mean I don't think they are gonna be screaming bright, but they might make a nice everyday shadow.

Does Jupiter look like any of the pigments at all? I have a lot of taupish brown pigments - I just want to avoid repetition as much as I can.

Thanks so much for your insights! I SO appreciate it.

Re: Flashtronic

By jupiter is a pretty but very common color IMO.

If you've already have losta shimmery goldish/taupe this one might not be useful !

It's a pretty color but I don't find it much interesting ...

Thanks!

Was Tectonic boring too- that is the one with the streak of green in it.

I am just noticing that the new Rushmetal pigments- many of htem look like dupes too.

Pinked Mauve, Night Light, White Gold, Subtle, Copper Sparkle- geez, nothing new I guess.

Maybe I will get the MSF and a few pigments and two shadows and call it a day. ;/

I'm thinking the exact same thing. Although now that I want Mercurial and Lovestone as blushes I might end up getting more the eye shadows that I thought. Those lipglasses had me yawning, so I don't have to worry about those either. I want two of the three MSF, and I will look at the lipsticks and a few of the pigments in Rushmetal. I think I'll spend less money that I originally intended, which is a good thing, more for permenant and pro items!

Tectonic was a dull color too IMO ... mixing gold and "lime" green was a really good idea but it turned out kinda awfull ^_^' !

Yep there are losta dupes in the new pigments ... those bored me as well I can tell you ! I was sooo looking forward those but I ended up only buying Off the radar.

You're dead right : nothing new ! Looks like Mac was playing on the easy side for these 2 colllections !

But if you love coppery/frosty lipstick you shoud definitely check out thrills ...

Re: Flashtronic

I wonder if the color payoff of the e/s would be better if used wet. I know that is how I use the first mineralized e/s's that came out. I'm just not ready to write these off, the look so pretty

The first ones were so much nicer than the 2nd ones that came out though. If these are not as nice as the first ones, I will probably pass.

I thought the first ones had decent color although somewhat translucent even used dry.

I totally agree. I don't think she used a base, and it's the reason why the shadow isn't showing up so much.
I think if used with udpp and a damp brush (w/ mixing medium or fix+) the shadows will show up great.
At least that's what I keep telling myself

I have Shimpagne, and these days I find it too shimmery to the point that I actually look oily. The swatches posted of Gold Spill kinda look like a cross of Shimpagne + Lightscapade (which I wasn't willing to try until it was too late), so I actually might pick this one up, despite the fact that I already have a similar MSF.
