Is the Careblend powder light enough to be used as a finishing powder over foundation? I'm currently using MSF in Dark, I want to order it online but I can't get a good idea of how these colors are running. I know someone just said it's running red, so I'm not sure if the Careblend powder in Dark would work for me.

Edit:Just watched your vid GucciGirl it was so helpful! It looks so nice,I know you said you're oily and it didn't make it worse but I'm a little scared as my skin recently became oily this year. Ah well back to MSF for me.

The MA confirmed for me that it is great for setting. Very Sheer. I tried the Dark Deep and it just blended right into the foundation. I like my powders to offer a little bit of coverage. This does not. I use MSFN or Select Sheer. With a little bit of concealer in some places, they give me the coverage I want. They look good when I spray Fix+ after application.

I might have to check out the Studio Careblend/Pressed powder in person to see if Dark or Dark Deep will suit my skintone. I'm also going to get a foundation match with Studio Fix Fluid.

You know honestly I don't think that this will be a problem for oily skin. I haven't had a problem AT ALL with this and oil. To me the MSFN made me oilier but because I love the texture and finish I deal with it. Maybe its the oil control lotion thats helping but as I sit here at 10:48pm I have had no oil outbursts all day. My face is still oil free, I would say semi-matte and I put my powder on at around 8:30am. I honestly think this powder offers a more matte finish than the MSFN. Maybe one day you go to the mall stop by MAC and wear the powder around while you shop so you can see it in different light. I dont think this is the most amazing powder ever- it could be better. But because I am a product whore I had to try it :)

Just wondering if anyone has compared the Studio CareBlend powder in Light with the MSF Natural in Light? I just got mine today but haven't had a chance to wear it just swatch bit it seems to match pretty good but if the MSF natural in light is darker in anyway it probably won't work for me.

So I tried the powder on my face today and it's actually a tiny little bit too dark but maybe not really noticeable (only to me). My HQ loose powder is not being carried in the stores anymore even though it's not discontinued they just got rid of it to make room for newer things (so stupid). I thought this could take it's place but I guess not.

I hate the 180 brush.. I keep it around for the memories..lol

I much prefer the 138, or the 182 to buff.

aww! :) thats so cute! now the 182 brush is my favourite face brush of all time. so soft, so quick with application and it can apply a thicker coating of powder or a light one. and sometimes i use it for blending out blusher when i have gone a bit clowny! lol!

Well, I broke my MSF so that gave me a good excuse to check this powder out.

Color me pleased. I've definitely got to layer it on to get the same coverage as MSF, but unlike MSF, it feels very light on my skin, even with a few layers. MSF always starts to give my face a coated feeling after a few hours, while this powder is apply and forget. It does an excellent job covering up the pores and on my skin, which is very dry, it gives a nice balanced finish - not powdery or dry looking, but accenting the planes of the face, without looking shimmery. It's too much to call it light reflective or dewey, but it gives a very subtle, healthy finish to my face when applied over bare skin. It's less matte than MSF, but it's not a satin finish by any stretch of the imagination. I think I'd attribute this in part to the emollients in the formula - it certainly keeps my skin feeling comfortable and balanced. Also, the ease of application with this powder is really something to note - it's very difficult to put too much on or get a powdery fake texture you'd have to blend out. Very foolproof in that department.

I think this is the powder I'd use for days when just clean bare skin isn't alive enough looking. MSF I'd use if I wanted a little more formal but basic and natural look. After that, we're talking MCLP for something jazzier and after that it's time to break out the foundation (you all know me - foundation is not a regular thing with me, but I use the MSF SPF15 when I go for it)

NC15 and I bought Light - it's very youth-ifying. I'm using a 138 for it and it comes packaged with a sponge puff for on the go application if you need it. If you already have MSF, I wouldn't say you need to run out and get this instead unless you really want something lighter and easier to apply than MSF or if you have extremely sensitive skin that doesn't like to feel coated or disturbed.

One layer and it'd be quite translucent.....at least Light sure is. It's not what I'd call a setting powder though.
Yeah I can't do more then one layer because it's a half a shade too dark for me. Just a tad lighter would have worked much better.

Sorry I'm a bit confused. I know some of you guys are using this alone but is this a good option for over foundation? Also I've never used the reg MSF, is it for alone, over foundation, or either? I'm a bit paler than NC15 and oily. I always heard minerlized powder wasn't a good choice for oily skin.

The MA who helped me was wearing it over foundation. He said that he's normally very oily and would have a shine and have to reapply other powders (including MSF) after 3 hours, but this powder keeps going all day without the shinies or having to reapply - when I saw him, he'd had his face on for 6 hours and was fine.

The Studio Careblend Powder is probably old news by now but I just wanted to quickly say that I'm really liking this powder. I put it on over Studio Moisture Tint (in Medium) and my skin looked matte but glowy at the same time. I'm starting to see a little bit of oil but it's not super shiney, still more of a glow, and I like it (although I'll probably use a blotting sheet soon LOL).

I have it in Medium Plus and I'm probably between NC20-NC25 (don't have one of my foundations here to check). The MAC SA suggested Medium Plus as Medium looked a little too gray for me, I'm thinking I could probably use either but a light application of Medium Plus is working so far.

Just my two cents!
