MAC - Grand Duos Discussion

ok, I bought one of these babies tonight, and I hate to say that it probably wont be my last.

Intenso came home with me tonight.... it is similar in colour to Merrily but seems to have more coral in it than Merrily - it kinda reminded me of Stereo Rose MSF but darker. I will try and post comparison swatches when I have time.

I honestly cant believe how pigmented these are this time around - it will be very interesting to see how they behave on my face.

I bought intenso yesterday and made my 1st fotd with it. Im very happy with the color, I used both sides of the blush and it looks more pinkish red then brown on my skin, but I am really in love now

I only want Moon River so far, because the texture seems to be great. Which shades have a different texture than Dainty? I hated Dainty (shimmers are too big, almost like small glitters). I prefer a texture like my BBR MSF's (smooth, glowy, can be frosty).

I'm just lucky I have a good job as a nurse. Otherwise, I don't know how I'd support my MAC habit and still be financially stable. Well, I guess I'd no longer have a savings lol.

As much as all of us spend on MAC, we still probably only make up a fraction of their overall customer base. I'm pretty sure most cosmetic companies (especially the mid to high end brands) are going to start to feel the pinch. Many people are going to make do with what they have and only get what they need during times like these. Even those with stable jobs (if one can call any job stable).

Of course, since all of us on Specktra are such giving generous types, we will continue to spend, for the sake of the economy naturally!!!

I'm undecided: I don't know whether to get Moon River or Love Rock. They are both soooo pretty.

This is actually the first mineralized blush that I'll be buying and I'm a bit confused on how to use it. Do I just blend the two colors together or use one as a blush and the other one as a highlighter?

man I need a job....I keep getting those pesky emails letting me know about all the MAC goodies that I shouldn't be buying until I have a job lined up. But I swear I *NEED* Moon River. Gorgeous. Plus it's like...one of my favourite songs.

Ok now that i hear good things even tho i dont need to see them in person becuz MAC got my checking account wrapped around their website pinky I will be investing in moon river, intenso and one more for the hell of it. i feel like its those not so big of a deal collections that come out like this that come out with really good stuff rather collections like HK that honestly were dissapointing in all angles, the pigmentation on all the products, and just even the packaging didnt WOW me like that. But I will purchase today and let you ladies know my reaction when my little black box arrives.

I was considering in purchasing Moon River for the marbled side (because I already have too many pink blushes), but when I saw the price tag, CAD 27, I shot that idea down.

I'll wait for Sugar Sweet's Perfect Topping. I believe it's CAD 32-ish.

MSF are at least 2x in size.

The "swatches" of these on MAC's site are complete rubbish. How am I supposed to know what they look like with just a boring straight computer swatch??

Mmmhmmm. Yep. I know.

MSFs are up to $32.50 now. Right. Because I loooove a $2.50 hike.

Makeup companies are feeling the recession, but at the same time, it's not something people are going to cut out entirely. A new lipstick (or whatever item) is a good way for a number of people to feel like they are indulging and treating themselves - hence providing a nice pick-me-up - without breaking the bank (remember that addicts are not the average, please

).

Not ALL industries do worse during a recession. During the Great Depression, three things saw a significant RISE in sales: booze, cigarettes and chocolate. Just FYI.
