MAC - Grand Duos Discussion

lolz i don't have any pet names for my vagine, sry guys!

I actually saw these today in their full glory and well, I might cave and get just 1! I was really impressed by their smooth application, and the colors were b-e-a-utiful!

I want them!!

I'm not only because I have other past Mineralized blushes that I have had for a long time and I still haven't flattened the dome.....so they last for a longgg time

Yeah these are my first mineralized blushes from MAC since I only got into MAC as of this year pretty much lol. Hello Kitty were my first blushes!

Are any of these close to nuance? Hot planet kind of reminds of me nuance but then it doesn't.

Yeah I think Earth To Earth is the closest to Nuance... There are pics in the swatch thread I think...

For those who got Hot Planet, is it orangey? I was looking at swatches and thought it looked so, although I know it's supposed to be a plum-based color.

The solid side of Earth to earth is pretty similar to nuance.

Dreamer246: I have hot planet...and this blush is one odd blusher. It looks plum/muave in the pan...but when it is applied it's actually peachy on the face. No hint of the plum tone at all.

) to get only 2 blushes and I'm trying to decide among Earth To Earth, Grand Duo, and Hot Planet, which one should I forgo? NC35, for reference.

hmmm that's a tough one Dreamer246.. i have all three and i'm love all of them

but if u really have to skip one i guess u can skip one of the peachy ones either Hot planet or Earth to Earth.

But Hot planet is GORGEOUS.....so i wouldn't recommend u to skip that. Ha ha... looks like i'm not much of a help here

As much as I want to spend money and get a blush from this collection... I'm going to have to pass. I still have my mineralized blush from the original collection, and I love it. Plus... I just got the two Hello Kitty blushes... AND I want both blushes from Rose Romance... AND a MSF from Sugarsweet. I really just don't have the money or the room for another one...

DARN! They look so pretty too. I might get one later AFTER Sugarsweet...

Someone needs to convince me to get one @_@

Oh ps, everyone be careful when putting grand duo on!!! I put my brush in and it looked like I had just enough product, but when I put it to my face I just thought *... uh oh, thats not good* and I looked like a clown LOL.

You mean the Beauty Powders? There are no powder blushes in the Rose Romance collection, just the one Gel Blush.

I tried Earth to Earth today... on me this isn't a true peach. It actually looked more like the bronze MSF's that I have (So Ceylon, Brunette), but a bit lighter and I do see the plummy tone on my cheeks. It's okay, but not super pretty like Hot Planet and Grand Duo. It gives me a neutral sun-kissed looked at best.

YEAHHH, those. Bawww, I thought they were blushes. Well, crack...

I agree with u. Grand duo is SUPER pigmented. I used my 188 AND i though i was already being light handed...but when i apply onto my face....it was like POW. one patch of super bright red powder...and i had to blend n blend it out for a nice natural flush.

So do be careful when applying grand duo. It's VERY pigmented

Let's see... I have one MB (Dainty), and I just bought both HK blushes. Although I'm not getting the BP from Rose Romance (I think) or any MSF from Sugarsweet (though I'm still contemplating Perfect Topping). I might pick up the BPBs from Style Warriors though. So that puts us on par.

I am going to get 2 or 3 of the Grand Duos.

Sounds scary... I only get the clown effect with Brunette MSF, I keep forgetting how pigmented it is until I put it on.

I swatched the blushes that I'm eyeing today... I thought Earth To Earth was the prettiest although the marble side makes it appear a lot lighter, and Grand Duo is nice too but very very pigmented... Coming in third would be Hot Planet.

Question for the office-going folks: Are these blushes suitable for the workplace? They look super glittery/shimmery to me.

I'm supposed to do my internship in a couple of months' time, figured I should stock up on more office-friendly makeup.
