MAC Heirloom Mix Collection (Oct 23, 2014)

I remember a lipstick from Spring 2000 collection   Huetopia  called  “ LoveDust ”. It was described as a matte but had an  unusual frost /matte finish .I loved this shade. Here’s the description : opaque rose-beige enhanced with a pale gold dusting.

Totally dating myself, but I had and wore LoveDust until there was no more. I loved it with strange colored gloss on top or over a brown lip pencil and clear gloss.

Still debating whether to get tribalist or not, Amplified is my fav finish but reds look awful on me, the closest thing to red I can wear is What Joy lipstick, how does Tribalist compare to that ? Any opinions ?

And there is no official Matte Frost. Not sure what's up with box being labeled a Matte, but SoR is listed as a Frost.

Ah darn! Perhaps it is another Retro Matte/Matte fiasco!

Sparks Of Romance says Matte Frost, but the box just says Matte. Another typo???

Firm Form was labeled Matte but described as "Gilded black with gold pearl". That one looks rather like a matte frost when applied, so I could understand this. "Frost" is still sort of a dirty word to a lot of lipstick lovers, while everyone knows and loves "Matte", so Marketing might say "let's not cloud the issue too much for our general customers".

I read on Aanica2012's instagram that the packaging is bumpy or textured like the Alluring Aquatic packaging. I don't know why but that made me even more excited for the lipsticks. Edit - after backtracking I see that this has been mentioned lol Ignore this haha

It's what makes it exciting, the packaging is slick but the slightly elevated texture makes it interesting and you enjoy touching it. Aquatic packaging was such a success maybe they wanted to help sales for the end of year collection,it's like a . Hybrid child from Glamour daze, . and Alluring Aquatic, slick and shiny(glamour daze) and AA bumpy textured...very exciting
