MAC - Hello Kitty and Kitty Kouture Discussion Part II

Ahhh so I went to the South Beach event tonight and it was HORRIBLE! LoL. Cute set up (we also had the Daniels) but I would say they allowed over 400 people in. Because of "fire hazards" they were only letting small groups in at a time. I didn't even get an invite I got invited over the phone as did most of the people there. I was in line for an hour and a half. Horrible disorganization and chaos. The displays were almost empty (im guessing people were stealing the stuff) or the lipsticks were broken.

Almost everything was sold out, I got elbowed in my pregnant belly like 50 times, and after spending 200 dollars (that part is ok because the stuff IS pretty) I didn't even get a balloon or a tote! We ran out of balloons and they never even had totes ughhhh

boooooooooo I'm moody and hormonal now lol.

I ended up with Fashion Mews, the brush set, 2 makeup bags, and Too Dolly (I wanted the 2 palettes but the other was sold out), I also picked up Mimmy for my sis (the last one). But dammit, I want a tote! lol.

thanks everyone for the swatches! im really interested in how the makeup bags look casue right now i want both of them but that could change if they are crappy ..... pics anyone?

So we didn't have totes either, how lame! We only got the balloons and tattoos which didn't excite me at all.

Oh and Roxy, you are correct in that I got the 2 mixed up, will go back and fix now.

I figured with all the effort I put into the review, I have finally started my own blog. My review/summary is the first entry

Good grief! That's awful. On a LOT of levels. I'm so sorry you had such a crappy time at what was obviously a very poorly organized & overseen event

Oh ok thought it was just us...almost hauled my hormonal ass over there tomorrow to demand a tote bag LOL.

The makeup bags are wonderful quality. I got the medium sized and it's the perfect size for me...they're very well made

i was told the small makeup bag is really small like the size of your hand. and the girl told be she could prob fit the like 3 lipglosses and 3 lipsticks in it. i want the HK Soft Vanity Case "traincase". but i would like to see it first and know what people opinions on it are

The event was really cute but it was set up horribly! I'm usually not a complainer, I know that store is always crowded and was expecting a huge crowd but half of the list said "phone" on it which meant it was a phone invite. The list was pages and pages long. At 9 when the event ended there was still a HUGE line outside which they didn't let in. Anyone who called got invited! It just sucks that we couldn't get half of the stuff we wanted because it was sold out or because they were so disorganized that they couldn't find it. One younger girl (probably 15 or so) fainted and everything! At that point they said "21 and over only". Ughhh, whatever at least I got some stuff I wanted

makeup always cheers me up.

that sucks about the tote bag. i will cross my fingers for us and maybe we will get one some how. i want one really bad.

I don't think you could even fit THAT much in the small one. It is TINY. Like 3 lipsticks tiny...I don't see the point of it.

The medium is perfect size for purse or travel and the traincase is cute but immediately sold out.

yeah i was thinking getting the small one for my purse and the medium one for when i travel... but if the small one only holds a few lipsticks and lipglosses then im going to have to compare it to the one that i have now which holds about the same ....

thanks! i think that im just going to get the medium one now... well that leaves more money for lippies! (its the lippies that im having a problem with... i cant decide which ones that i want, i think that im just going to have to seem then IRL)

LoL I'd love one but I'm happy with what I got. I'm gonna call and ask if they DID have them and maybe didn't give them out because of the crowds

I tried to get accessories at least (since it was only available at the PRO store) so that I can just get the makeup at my counter. I'm going to pre-order the things that sold out at the event...all I have to do is pick it up, no stress or elbowed baby bump lol.

Yes, the lipsticks were something I had to see to decide on.

The one that surprised me was fresh brew because I thought it was gonna be SUPER dark but because of the finish it swatched on my nc35 skin as a lovely non-pale nude. Cutester was pretty but wayyy too sheer, and suprisingly I loved fashion mews (which was the only one left other than cutester and the only one I got). The berry one seemed dupable from what I saw in pics but I didn't get to see any of the other colors because they weren't on the displays (im guessing they were stolen).

Yep. I'm assuming this is the same size as the teeny-tiny one in the "Barbie" collection, which I impulsively bought on-line when ordering the doll. It's definitely cute, and good for a collector's item, but it's really nothing more than a glorified change purse.

I Have no idea I didn't see it at all so it either sold out or is online only. The pics are on makeupmakesmehappy.com it's really cute and seems a good size though.
