Well I survived the unveiling last night!
T'was a ZOO!!!
I mean...the Circus,
literally, came to town...and I loved every chaotic minute of it. Of course, I was late getting there even with my 8:00 P.M. RSVP - I arrived at 8:40 P.M. and the 8:00 P.M. arrivals were still in line to get in!
Oh Good Times! Unfortunately, all was a complete blur, made even more possible by the Lemondrop cocktails and darling hired servers wielding trays of treats.
The actual unveiling took a back seat to a somewhat surprising reunion of many of my friends from various Bay Area MAC stores as they all volunteered to help out with the event. It was so cool to see them all together there in one place.
I felt aweful about the long line to the register! What a nightmare for them! Their poor registers were very slow - they did the best they could, though.
What I wanted to do in my earlier post was to encourage anyone who may be going to the S.F. unveiling to try to purchase your order over the phone so as to avoid the line altogether. In doing so - they'd simply hand you your bag and send you on your merry way! I figured it might be futile, though, especially if you didn't know what to get sight unseen.
The reality was, really, that there were probably only four Speckra Members there to read such a warning! *sigh*
Erin was,
absolutely, correct about
Strayin' being a (frost), my poor MA and the rest of them who were there. Some of them had only gotten their first glimpse of the collection themselves only after the crowds left.
I, also, strongly concur with Erin about
Milk and its likeness to
Kitchmas! I don't know where you all are getting this
Helium comparison from, but I'm here to tell you that all three of these characters,
Milk, Helium, and
Kitchmas are vastly different - to me anyway.
O.K. I'll admit I'm a HUGE fan of
Helium and
Kitchmas and I would be nothing without them...hell I'm wearing it in my profile pic!
Milk is worth adding to the collection if you're a fan of either of them, furthermore, the texture isn't chunky like
Helium and
Kitchmas, it actually seems more like
Shimmertime.
Milk is one I'll be getting a backup of!
Now the only items I bought sight unseen of which I'm very pleased with:
Milk piggie
Too Dolly Quad
Her Glitz g/l
Girl Groove g/l
I don't know how to express this and I will do so as delicately as I can -
Her Glitz g/l is worth
jumping out of a window for. This glitterliner is the stuff of the Gods, mere mortal words such as these cannot even begin to describe the perfection that is contained within its tube...
...I will not rest until I have as many as will take me
well into the afterlife.
On that note, all I can say is - Hello Kitty Strikes Again!
