MAC - Hello Kitty and Kitty Kouture Discussion Part II

Oh, I wasn't trying to be sarcastic! Although if I was that would be pretty funny eh. Sadly I do spend absurdly long amounts of time looking for information to spare myself the embarrassment of asking other people.

Searching is an art! Most people just blindly plug in something you need to find out, e.g. swatches for Satin Taupe eyeshadow. So in the search box most people would type in "Satin Taupe". But it's extremely helpful to narrow down your search by clicking Search -> Advanced Search.

When you're there, type in "satin taupe", in quotes if you like (helps narrow the search down even further). Then, choose the forum you'd like to search in (in this case would be Product Swatches), then in Show Results As choose "Posts"...this is important! The results then show up as posts so you don't have to go a whole thread to find the appropriate info. Saves a lot of time!

Of course, I'm not saying not to try doing a search at all. Like the previous poster mentioned, it is relatively easy to find those general information in the official color story thread.

Exactly.
General Q's are just what they are, general and can be found easier than questions pertaining to different colors, products or brands that are comparable to what you are looking for. I personally search first and if I can't seem to find the answer that I want, that is when I ask.

And to be honest, the search engine isn't very accurate. It overlooks certain names sometimes. People just don't have all the time in the world to go through a bunch of chatter or 92827 post searches to find one thing.

I'm kinda worried about Fun N Games being too orangey...I love Spaced Out though and it kind of leans to the orange side, imo. My MA told me Fun & Games would be like Peaches, so I held off on purchasing Peaches, but now I want Peaches haha. Well we know I am still going to buy a bpb simply for the packaging, and since I'm not too wowed by hot pink blushes (have a million of em already) I guess I will stick w/ F&G.

YES...they are not one in the same.

As a matter of fact, if you adore Helium or Kitchmas then I would, sincerely, consider adding Milk to your arsenal.

The texture is lighter and easier to work with than both of the afore mentioned - almost like Shimmertime, texturewise, if you remember that one at all.

IMO -

I read a few makeupalley reviews (I think there have been 2) and so far they say it's not too orangey. There is "orange" in the description so expect it to lean towards that end but I think it looks very wearable. Personally I loooove peachy blushes so I think I'm getting this.

Anyone know if Fun and Games is simlar to Nuance mineralize blush?

(Okay don't throw stones if someone has asked this before, I know it would be ironic since I went on a whole spiel about how I never ask questions LOL.)

Thanks for agreeing with me. I was beginning to think I'm the only person who isn't too impressed with the Specktra search engine.

I feel your pain. When making my initial want-list for this collection when we first got the colour story, I immediately decided upon "Fun & Games" being that I'm a very warm-toned NC25 and "Tippy" just wouldn't work for me.

However, the initial swatches I'm seeing are making me wonder, since F&G really does seem very orange. And being that the 2 Beauty Powders seem almost pointless (zippo colour pay-off), and I REEEAALLY want one of these items for the packaging..... I'm thinkin' "Tippy" it is.

I think.

If F&G blush is anything like Peaches (which I have) then it should be pretty wearable, although it took some time getting used to the very peachy look.

I'm sorry we upset you with the discussion, but that's how most of us are: too chatty and tend to veer off-topic.

I love Nuance but it broke me out so I was looking for something similar. I remember Nuance being slightly tanner. Nuance is being an mineralize blush is more sheer and has the mineralize effect (lol if you know what I mean like how) in my opinion compared to Fun & Games as bpb it's more of pigmented powder in a light coral-y peach with a touch of orange with a shimmery sheen... hope that helped

I really have no problem with the chatter about things off topic in your personal life, like Audrey & her husband. (My prayers are with you and your family. One of my professors says "Obama" is her answer to all ppl stuggling in the world's current state. I hope she is right!)

It just felt really negative and ppl were being put down. I don't like that. Maybe I am just too sensitive!

Thanks for your feedback!
I am feeling the Hello Kitty love of the thread coming back

Apparently, the ad that he responded to on craigslist led him (unknowingly) to working in an (autobody) chop shop. The authorities moved in, closed the shop, and let all of the employees go. I swear, we just CAN NOT catch a break

Looks like I may have to skip HK afterall. Though now after all of these wonderful swatches and reviews, I am hoping I can gather up enough for Tippy BPB (I only have 1 BPB, and LOVE the texture), Nice Kitty and She Loves Candy. I am SO glad we have some more time between now and Sugar Sweet! I need LOTS of bimbo magic, please!!

I'm so sorry to hear that Audrey! I've been out of a job for just about a year, I know how tight and difficult things can get. Hang in there! I'll be keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I did the same thing and so for awhile I was having a hard time decided on which blusher to get because I wanted the packaging and the orange-y swatches of F&G was driving me nuts... so I decided to go to my freestanding to make sure and I was ecstatic to find that it was wearable and I didn't want Tippy because like you said it was looked too cool for my taste... but then again I didn't see Tippy in real life so I don't know about that.
